@@thegreatfreesharkofknowled2480 Bet you wouldnt think its was funny if you were homeless. With the rent hikes up so high gonna be alot more
I like the idea of allowing this parking in front of the homes of local politicians.
This happened in a city in Orange County California by the wash . Went out of control and eventually demolished it.
100%
Hmm! If this happened like the same for the gun reform! Politicians had to deal with it on the daily something would be done about the issues which their constituents must contend with. 🤨👌🇺🇲
@@marksmith801 That may be so, but laws and reform won't make it impossible for people to obtain guns. More difficult perhaps, but the last I checked, Fentanyl is something controlled by law and I would not have much trouble getting that. It would stand to reason that obtaining a firearm wouldn't be much of a problem.
All a person would need to do is bring guns over from Mexico. They get drugs across that border without issue. I don't see why guns would be any more difficult.
Those people who ridicule an "AR-15" do not know anything about them. It is a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle like what Grandpa used to use to eradicate ground squirrels.
@@paulstandaert5709 my word like everything else the. 225 round is a bit stronger than the .22 he used to get rid of squirrels! 😆
What could possibly go wrong? Of course, they'll abide by regulations, they've only been VIOLATING regulations for YEARS.
I've lived in several RV's and never considered myself homeless. I was self employed and I rented a P.O. box for a mailing address when I wasn't staying in an RV park or for when I decided to stay at a National Park. I completely rebuilt a 1970 Silver Streak travel trailer while living in it. There was never any mess or trash outside of my RV and when I got done it was like new, only better. I had a cell phone, WIFI, satellite TV, a generator, a bank of batteries and a 12 volt converter. If I didn't like my neighbor I just moved! No problem! I enjoyed the freedom of living like that, but it's not for everyone!
I thank God for people like you. Rock On!!
I have done the same!
That is kinda my current situation, living full time in a travel trailer while getting my shyte together. It's sad that RV people like us get such a bad rep because of people like these damn squatters who just pull up, trash the place, then bail.
@@Urapunk It's one of the best ways to get back on your feet after a set back. Your bills are at a minimum and your cost of living can be as cheap as you need it. Living in National Parks where you have to move every 5 days and they only have a dump station and no sewer at each spot, isn't very convenient. But, you don't pay for lot rent, so it's worth it when you're trying to save your money. Some people just can't live in a "tiny home" so it isn't for everyone.
When you own a property and you have a jerk neighbor, you have to either sell or be stuck.
Yet cities restrict actual home/property owners from allowing people to live in trailers on their own private property....gtfoh!
Agreed but we let them do it. Start writing your politicians to change these regulations. Go to town meetings. It has been done in other states with the tiny house movement where government tried to impose big sticks and brick housing standards onto tiny efficient homes. Now they are realizing this is a safe, sustainable way for people to live happily and be sheltered. In Washington they are now acutely aware there is a shortage of affordable housing, even for those making a decent income. I see it in every seminar I am required to attend in my work as a government employee. People need to be allowed to help themselves out of homelessness and if your property has room for a van, an rv or trailer to solve that problem, it should be allowed, as long as sanitation in ANY form is maintained and available.
🎯🎯🎯
true ive been "evicted" twice from the zoning dept from living in my rv in private back yards ,where i was paying rent to stay at . then after each time i was staying at walmarts and side streets until i found another spot .makes no sense
@@DanKirchner5150 .. that’s bs
@@Lousasshol thats just like YOUR opinion MAN
The permits should be valid only in the rich areas of the city. We’ll see how long it lasts.
Now that's a refreshing idea!!!
Give it a few more months, man, and there may be no more "rich areas of the city" left. Some Wall Street Big Shots are even predicting a Political Revolution on the Streets when this economy Completely Collapses soon. That's when you'll see mobs of Homeless, and Starving and Angry Americans take apart those "rich areas of the city" piece by piece. In the UK, mass media is already prepping people there for Food Rations and Food Shortages, but the media here in America will let us walk into it completely blind. This is how it ends in a nation that has cared more about Human Rights around the World for the last 75 years than it has cared about the Human Rights of its own People at home.
Peace until the Revolution, brother !!!
I agree
No, they should be in more tolerant Democrat neighborhoods. After all, they voted for it.
He'll no!
While being a nice, kind idea, the area is likely going to turn into a permitted drug zone. Not to say that all homeless are ill behaved, but encampments attract the bad ones.
went there a few weeks ago and first person I asked for blues had some... whole road is a drug market
You can tell a few of them already are.
It's not kind, at all. Allowing drug addicts to live outside or in delapidated RVs and actively making it easier for them by either feeding them, giving them tents, etc. might look "kind", but its cruel. It's putting a bandaid on a bloody stump of a leg and going "look how good and nice we are to those less fortunate than us!" meanwhile doing jack shit in terms of rehab, mental and physical health, and pathways back to normalcy.
@@nightcritterz I cannot speak to particulars, but I am guessing rehab, pathways to normalcy, and mental health treatments are available - and have been offered - to these people. You cannot help someone who choses not to be helped ...
Trying to help the homeless who truly wish to become productive, responsible citizens of a community…bravo! Enabling drug addiction, crime, sloth and those who have no wish to improve their condition…shame on the public officials!!
Homeless for 15 years?? Sounds like a personal choice at that point.
Yup. Most don't want off the drugs to do what's needed to get help. Or suck it up and do what the rest of us have to do and work for our living.
There are help wanted signs on almost every business
25k a year on min wage.... save at least 3k of that a year since they don't pay rent, that's 45 k after 15 yrs. In some places, that's more than enough for a down payment on a little 1 bed condo. Then you're set.
@@user-qr7ee2cp4y you can't even get a studio apt here for that. And most of these are more money holding a sign on corner in a day than most do in 2 weeks. And it's not taxed. Oh. And drugs are legal so if they get caught hurting you but it's for a fix it's your problem.
Lots of people retire in RVs , best to stay on blm land and work part time or 3-6 months out of year then have the rest of the year off..pretty sweet really if done right
I think they should all park around The Mayor's house or Jay Inslees mansion
Unbelievable. Imagine what that would do to your property value. I'd be suing the city immediately. That's just a meth haven.
This is a short-sighted solution. Allowing people to park for long periods of time is not a tenable option. It devalues properties, becomes a target area for drug dealers, and is generally unsafe for locals and those who living in the trailers. It would be better for the city to buy land for designated parking...like an RV park. Have a fence around the entire parameter and regulate who goes in and out with certain rules that must be abided by. This would be safer for everyone involved.
the ground breaking solution is to basically do nothing. it's very progressive.
Jay Fooking Inslee would be proud of them. Quite progressive.
Just like Republican gun control.
Like running in place, kind of progress. How fiscally responsible.
What you BOZOS fail to appreciate is how bad Economic Times are here in America. At age 72, it blows my mind to see how low this once Great Nation has sunken. What Olympia has done here is to Normalize Homelessness as just a part of "normal" American Life. This permit program shows you that local politicians have just given up on solving Homelessness and are just trying to find a way for everyone to live with it as a Permanent Thing. People shouldn't feel so Smug and Condescending about what's happening here because tomorrow it might be about them. We are all just a couple of paychecks away from Homelessness. Where does that put YOU ???

That has been happening in Denver for sometime. Sad thing is it's never in front of the homes where politicians live.
While living here, I think it should be mandatory to have scheduled classes (not to far from their RVs) on how to pick up trash, clean your surroundings, how to interact civilly with others, and if they don't attend, they are jeopardizing their stay. I guess this would work in a perfect world.

I guess the government is trying hard to get them to do themselves in with drugs to avoid the long painful process of dying faster of exposure

I'm grateful the homeless prefer city and town locations. Yet another reason I love living out in the mountains.
Yet another reason I live in a red state.
I am an Olympia resident. Let me make sure I understand this...
Homeless people parking their vehicles on Ensign used to be illegal. The city threw up their hands, claiming they lacked the enforcement power to stop people from doing so. Now, the city is issuing what are essentially 'squatting permits' which, if violated, would somehow result in the now-legalized activity being illegal again for the violator?
How does the city plan to enforce the no parking ordinance after this permit is violated if they could not enforce it before the permit was ISSUED?
lol maybe don't vote for these people?
They'll throw up their hands again, but this time, they'll do a reality show, edited for comedic effects.
Exactly…….leftist bureaucrats hard at work……Smfh!
However they will still go after you if you decide to let one of these people park their RV on your property. But that same person is free to park on the street in front of your home as long as your not OK with it.
You're not supposed to be able to think like you are, besides you should be worried about how we're going to fund all these top and bottom surgeries, and medicine for all the trans gendered kids because it's a human right, just like being a druggie homeless thief !
Does living in a RV mean piling garbage up all over the place ?

I live in Australia, and we also have homelessness. I once proposed that every suburb have a "caravan" lot, whether it be in the rich part of town or poor. Every local town council apposed such things and I was refered to the State government who refered me to the National Government.
Thank heavens that they opposed your hare-brained idea. Good lord, what a stupid idea. Liberals are destroying society
That is a much more tenable solution. Have a designated RV park with a parameter fence where people can stay and be safe if they comply. Parking along the road in this way is too open and increases the risk of everyone involved. It looks dirty, will devalue properties in the area, and attract drug dealers and their sort.
Brilliant! What could possibly go wrong? The area will become a beautiful, clean, safe haven, just as this report showed. 🙄

Now you might start to understand how my people felt when Columbus arrived!!!!!!
Now citizens should join together and start a class action lawsuit against that government of Olympia because they're now going to have to walk further travel further their vehicles could get damaged you also need to make sure if you're going to give a RV camping permit that that RV is fully registered insured and in safe operating condition and none of this should be free it should be paid for by whoever owns the RV
Each and every one of those “campers” have all of the classic signs of meth or fentanyl addiction. The city’s “compassionate” response is like feeding a wild animal in which they will be bitten once again. How about they require drug testing in order to get a permit?
I saw human beings, not wild animals. Maybe tune into animal planet?
@@wildlightarts It was an analogy. We see signs in the parks to not feed the animals else they become dependent upon you for food. Enabling is not a solution to a complicated problem that people refuse to face. The problem start at the southern border which is wide open allowing drugs to flow into our country. The Drug cartel can produce fentanyl pills for 50 cents a piece and sell them for $4.50 on our streets. A majority of these “campers” are addicts that we refuse to address with a positive treatment program. Taxes are collect from you and To “solve” this problem only to be drained in “administrative” cost. The addict gets a sign bolted to a pole saying “Free Permit to stay here.” You and the politicians feel good though because you think you’re helping with these kind of “solutions” but all that is happening is our money is being stolen by “compassionate” people when tough love is the solution. When there is a comprehensive mandatory drug rehab program, closed borders and citizens that are not willing to sweep these issues under the rug just so they can feel good, only then do we get our streets back.

When an RV I had broke down in Massachusetts, it was necessary to put it in storage, until I had the money to drive it away. So it was, RV in storage, working 2 jobs, months of saving and , lying of what my address was. Which I think, one couldn't get away with now. But..
Also, I didn't have any addictions, kids, or, prison records.
It would have helped tremendously, to be able to live out of that RV, at the time( winter). Yet seeing the condition of some of those RVs in this piece. It's amazing they were even there( smashed windshields, ruined roofs..they look like shanty 's on 4 wheels)And 15 years..omg
I feel bad for the home owners and renters on that street. All Washington did was give the homeless power and stealing a Claim. Emagine owning a home and a tweaker living outside your house. Bad deal
I really always loved Washington and wanted to move there - with everything going on the last few years I know I never will. Makes me sad .
Ironic how they trash up the most beautiful states first. Why couldn’t they trash up some desolate desert land. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to live there before the extremist liberals got voted into office. We were all a bit liberal and a bit conservative making it a great place to live years ago. But we saw the change just before we left. You could not pay me to ever go back. It’s heart breaking. They had the most beautiful state and the cleanest cities back then.
@@tlbryant88 it's intentional
I used to wake up with Folgers in my cup, now I wake up homeless in a truck😭
our homeless problem is far from being solved if it ever will be.
its so sad that these people don't want change bad enough to get their life straight. the drugs win 99% of the time
the guy said "I don't want to be here it's just where I ended up" dude if you didn't want to be there, you would not be there smh..
Poverty
15 years homeless. I could learn 30 different trades in that time, but not this guy.cant seem to see one of the 20,000 Help Wanted signs.
@@steelisthemeal Fuck that! People walk a thousand miles with nothing to get to the US... I'm tired of you people acting like saying "poverty" is a real argument...
If the cost of rent wasn't so high people could afford to have a place
The other 49 states should ship their bums to Seattle.
they do already.
That city gubmint homeless coordinator$:
Paraphrasing:
“After 2-3 warnings/citations it’s an _absolute revocation of the permit_ …but then they can immediately go protest it, of course.” 🙄
It's what happens when diversity is prioritized over competence
@@wokejoke2675 that doesn't even make sense.
Trying to find a home for the homeless, but they need to build a lot and have police and a security booth stationed at the entrance of lot. Anyone entering must show ID or be a known resident. Basic rent of 5$ weekly should be charged for clean-up and sanitation.
Well, it's nice to see people being kind to people
They better not try to effing do this in the rest of Washington. Gross.
Skid Row 2.0
In the uk if the vehicle is insured tax and mot'ed (the yearly safty inspection) then they can park freely
I can't stop laughing 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂.
Right! 😂😂😂😂
There's a reason why no other city is doing that
Right on! picking up my new RV tomrrowa! Ill be there!
Effin dyin over here! 🤣😂😂
My RV is bigger than yours. Id better get there first haha. Hey Siri! Directions to Olympia.
Zoo York dude looks like Beavis...... always wondered what happened to him, looks like Stuart finally got the last laugh....
At least they are trying to do something positive
Try that all over the state and see what happens. People don’t pay mortgage and property tax to have criminals camp infront of their houses.
Move to Texas rasin
@@PerspectiveEngineer you’re part of the fucken problem
Nothing like profiting off the homeless. Such compassion and empathy. 🤨
How do you profit off the homeless?
Now the working residents of Olympia know where they can locate all the stuff that was stolen. Brilliant
Put big trash cans out in the area and the sewage monthly service is a great way forward there is a fix for the problem I guarantee that if you have trash service and have sewage monthly service you won’t have the mess that you are currently seeing
Dumb, really dumb idea! Glad I don't live there...ewww
I'll tell you what, I for one am excited to start using the free public trash bins thr City has put out for the homeless folks. One FILTHY roadside camp has 3, all empty. I'm so tired of paying such a high price for trash on top of astronomical utility prices, so I will be taking advantage of that free service.
Considering that the alternative is gross misuse of public lands and the desecration of nature, encouraging these people to stay within the cities is a good thing in my book. What I've seen with the destruction of wilderness areas in the Pacific Northwest by these people is disgusting and shameful
They have Cluster B personality disorders. No CURE for that. They need to be put on floating islands in the Pacific!!
There goes the neighborhood. Let's see if the penalties for non compliance are enforced.
Let officials see what they enable from their offices... park these mobile junkie huts on the Capitol grounds.
'mobile junkie huts'...exactly what 99% of them are! Don't forget bike chop shops and stolen item pawn shops too....
RIP Olympia.
Hope the management of the permits go well!!
Might as well put up a sign that says "Homeless Welcome"
they should do this on the capital mall...
