For those who don't know the song has a story written by penoreri himself, I used DeepL for translation so the translation might have some errors If you have noticed, it is usually amazing, but these three songs are actually a suite. It is a story about a girl who lost her vision and regains it. In "cage," Mikanjiru sings about the "pure white darkness," which is the girl's emotion. In "cage," Mikanjiru sang the "pure white darkness," which is the girl's emotion. We challenged Mikanjiru to "dare to suppress" his expressive power, and we are very satisfied with the resulting worldview, which is quite close to the image we had in mind. The title track, "Monochrome and Vivid," is over 8 minutes long and consists of three parts, The piano electronica at the beginning is her "Dark Depths. Next, the guitar rock part, which Zero-san played over and over again, is about her "conflict and struggle with herself". And the orchestral part at the end expresses "liberation and redemption". What is the world she saw? And how did it end?
A story told without words. One that can not only be understood by but also resonate with people everywhere, regardless of who they are, where they're from, and what they've gone through. One that can express feelings and emotions that can't be described any other way. One that tells of sorrow, joy, anguish, relief, and everything else between. One that gives you no choice but to let your imagination run free, dreaming of a world as vivid as its intricate composition. One that, most importantly of all, toys with your emotions in a way nothing else can. That's what this song is to me - a story unlike any other. One that deserves to be heard.
Everytime i listen to this song it gives me chills, the orchestral part makes me cry, such a beautiful piece of art, unfortunately it hasn't reached to this generation eyes
I've over 120k hours of music I've listened to of any and all genres. This, this right here is the most emotional and magnificent song I've ever heard. That guitar was played by a soul who is too good for this world, and one who was hurt by the same world..
this comment is just as unforgettable as this song, and I'm not saying that lightly. this song is one of the only songs that has ever made me cry, and one of the only that I think matches the quality of misoilepunch, who is by far my favorite musician (they're a duo but still).
As humanity departs the planet they've called home for eons, a final concert is held. A concert that the entire world visits to appreciate the arts and crafts that both mother nature, and humanity have manifested. A harmony of sounds shakes the foundation of earth, and sends chills unlike any that has ever been experienced to both human and animal alike. Songs, cultures, traditions, and arts from all eras represent themselves in the last dance of nature. This otherworldly, yet still worldly concert prevails for days, if not weeks, and few are dissatisfied, while others excitedly anticipate upcoming songs. Countless songs have been played, even more cultures have been represented, but alas, the world stage announces its final song: penoreri - Monochrome and Vivid. If any being dozed off from lack of patience, this song woke them back up. If any were unimpressed by the concert, this changed their mind. This singular song has done what the concert has always done, but managed to supercede everything else before. 2:30 into the song, the guitarist pops out, and shreds the electric guitar in ways never before seen, followed up by a stellar drum performance, beautiful chord progression on the piano to support, and more. Not even 30 seconds have passed, and many talk about this song being their favorite from the concert. As the song goes by, the entire crowd is rendered speechless, but made it up with emotions they haven't quite had in their life. Once the guitarist ends his performance, some board spacecrafts, but others realize the song isn't over, and stay. What they were met with is the best possible ending to the best concert they've ever seen, with a stunning orchestral melody, with severe help from the piano, especially at 6:34. After 8 minutes of what felt like a lifetime and a planck time, the song ends, and everyone packs up. and as for me, I made this comment to emphasize how much I love this song.
This is like 3 separate songs. The first part with dominant piano and a neutral feel to it, the second part with dominant electric guitar and made in minor, and finally the third one with dominant trumpet (or some other brass or some kind of flute?) and then violin made in major. All of these parts could be standalone songs, but the fact they're all so vastly different and yet fit together makes the song even more beautiful.
It's a shame this song (and the album it comes from) isn't on Spotify because I'd stream the hell out of this magnificent song. It's one of my all-time favorites out of all the genres of music I've listened to.
This should really have a band arrangement, it’s one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created and it would fit so well in an orchestral or symphonic arrangement
I tried to interpret this song, and here's how I interpreted it: It's about a tale of a person dying. Probably a soldier or a former soldier. He wished to see his life once more before he dies. First typewriter-like sound is like a rewind back to his life. Rock part (Most part of the song) is like his adventures and actions that happened in his life. Including the wars and battles he fought. Everything that excited him, the adventures, the camaraderie he made, the friends in his life, etc. The sudden calmness of the song is when his time has come. He knows he is going to die happily. Because once more, he saw his what his life has been. Then he closed his eyes, with a smile on his face. The second typewriter-like sound is like it's already the end of the film. That he has already passed away peacefully and happily. Those are not actually typewriters at all. The sound is from an old projector. This is about recalling your memories before you die.
I have never tought about one soldier, but in the rock part I also have the feeling of actions and the end at 7:18 I also have the feeling of someone that know that will die. Second typewriters images comes of my imagination of someone finaly close his eyes and quickly remember his life in seconds.
@@spell105 Yeah rather than a typewriter, I see it as someone working in a menial 9-5 job (convenience store) and this being an expression/dream of what could have been, through emotions and music. It gets rather fantastical by the end of it. In the end you wake up and continue living as you always have; monochrome living & vivid imaginations.
This song is very beautiful and in the final part it is the best, it makes me feel nostalgic and brings tears to my eyes :'D Even when I play this music in Osu!mania, it makes me cry xd Edit: Wow, after 2 years... the fact that I don't play osu!mania more of 2 years, maybe I should return to remember and play this song again.
