Spiders eat unwanted bugs. The ones I think really spawn are the ones in dusty closets that haven't been touched in 17 years. And yet there's a tiny spider walking in a cardboard box like it eats air.

Loved the vid! Depression can lead to many things, one of which including not wanting to do or clean anything. It leads to messy rooms, which I personally havent really ever had as my parents always taught me to keep my room clean and think about what other might think if they saw it messy , especially friends.

I'm 14 years old and if I'm completely honest my room is worse than any of the houses in this video. I have maybe cleaned my room 3 times in my entire life. And it's just so bad that I genuinely don't have the energy to do this. So I feel for the people in this video who are going through what I am.
I'm 14 as well, and I was in your possitiona year ot two ago, it was really hard to feel motivation but as soon as I just pushed myself to cleaning it, it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. It took me a whole month but went through all my stuff and got rid of 3/4ths of it (most of the stuff in my room was trash, dishes, clothes, etc.) I took me forever but I did it, and I know you can too someday.

As I like to say my room reflects my mental state, when my mental state is good my room is clean and organized (which is pretty rare, but it's becoming more frequent), when my mental state is an absolute disaster my room is also an absolute disaster. It's been hard to keep on top of my room, and most things in life because I'm still learning how to cope with my bipolar mood disorder that has made it difficult to stay on top of most things in my life for years.
Hey SSSniperwolf. Thanks for bringing this to light. A lot of us do get depressed and we don't have the energy to deal with this problem. It's a sad sight, but it's reality, and those that boast "perfection" really don't understand why one can be depressed and messy. In other words, yeah. Some people complain, and say to just smile or pray, just to get depressed from life problems all over again. Again, thanks for showing us this

This video hit hard today. I'm staying with a friend of mine who quite literally is struggling with both physical and mental health issues. When I first started staying here you couldn't even see her floors. Add to that 2 cats not being properly taken care of either. It's true you don't know what a person is going through. Her family quite frankly is absolutely no help either. Always putting her down and making her feel even worse. I also struggle with physical health problems but nothing to the severity in which she does. I've gone through all but 2 of the rooms to help her get her place decent again as my limitations allow for. All I can do is try to help, but I worry that when I move out it's going to go back to the way it was. I hope not for her sake, but like I said her family just isn't there for her the way they should. Anyway, thank you for this video because it just reminds me it can be anyone in this situation.

My mother helped a few elderly people who needed help to clean their house. One of them actually got inspired by my mom to change her life around. Another story, I knew these two girls that would literally deliberately trash their rooms like a hoarder house. Their rooms would be like the one house with the lady products piled up in the bathroom , and they would cause this same mess in the laundry room and bathroom. Other people in the house had to deal with those two kids mess.

Personally I suffer from over-cleaning because I am a severe germaphobe and have a mild OCD problem so whenever I get depressed I clean, but I get it how people wouldn’t have the energy to clean when their mental health gets a severe hit

I'm glad she didn't immediately judge some of those messy rooms on there and assume that those people are just lazy, I'm going through a similar situation where I don't have any motivation to clean up or I just can't figure out where to start. It's especially harder that my room has some moths and maggots and some other bugs so whenever I see those on what I'm cleaning it turns me off and I just stop and lose my motivation, I don't even have a place to put my clothes because I don't have a dresser so they just pile up on some random thing. Whenever you see a person's room like that don't immediately assume that they're just lazy and they don't want to do anything to fix it, try to keep an open mind

I have had to mention to many people that depression, mobility issues and more can lead to a home looking like that, laziness rarely looks as bad as that, and then the worse it gets, the harder it is to try to get started. It is a horrible cycle. Living like that is hell but they just cant find a way out.

Makes me want to tidy my room. I had to downsize from having 2 rooms to having one small room with a little storage space so it gets messy quickly having adhd don't help though! Distractions and i put it off so long! Then I'm overwhelmed and so on! Cool video though very encouraging
