I used to do beta glucan and protein rests back in the day but that became less necessary as malt was more nodified. But then I used mecca grade and I noticed a loss in efficiency until I did a bg/protein rest again. I now use great western religiously. Always great results
As long as you have a decent efficiency that is consistent, you should be able to make world class beer at home. Nobody has ever asked me what my efficiency was when I pour them a beer sans my 2 beer nerd friends. I either get thumbs up or down. I think final product is the most important thing. Consistency lets you get the results you expect .
@@NWsmallbatchBrewing I used to get all caught up in that. As long as I hit 70%, I am good. But I also plan on making adjustments at the end. Boil longer or add some dihydrogen monoxide to dial in my gravity and then chill. I have yet to figure out how my volume changes with temp. Cheers man!! Love the videos!
The overnight mash you do will also increase efficiency. The hot tip on stirring up the mash well is another efficiency gain. Cheers 🍻
Facts.
Good advice.
We have the same system, so I can definitely relate!
Good video. I'm interested in the tip of eliminating the recirculatition pump since I also have a claw hammer system. Cheers from México 🍻
¡Salisos!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️
