Making a Map for Gmod (2020)

So it's been a long while since last time I posted, and I know I've been very inactive on the channel, but I realized my first episode on the series was absolutely terrible, so I've redone it and hopefully you all can understand whats happening this time.

FOR PEOPLE WHO DON't KNOW HOW TO WORK THE CUTTING TOOL: 1. Select the cliping tool and wall, 2. You make the line with the tool on the wall, 3. do Shift+x until you see the wall turn white on the top right camera, 3.5. hit enter, 4. make another line with the tool on the wall, 5. hit enter, scale down the cutout to your liking. I'm not sure how I found it out but I did I guess

but when i make a line with the cutting tool, it just cuts. messes everything up entirely, it cuts everything EXCEPT the triangle piece im trying to cut off to make a pointed roof

I'm lost.
I exported the game and saved it but when I exported it came out as two files, .vmf and .vmx.
The problem with that is that I don't know where to put it. Because every file has .ain and some others in them.
What do I do? Where do I put them?

Whenever I actually play my game, is gives me a screen saying nodes rebuilding or something, them when that disappears, It's just a black screen with my item in the corner... And when I turn on my flashlight, the blackness goes pure white.

This was a great tutorial. Although i am curious if it is possible to take maps from the files of other games and import them into gmod? I have been wanting to take some of the multiplayer maps from halo combat evolved and put them into gmod for a while now.

If the other game is made in the Source game engine it might be easier, but the only supported way is by recreating it by hand.
