TOBACCO ROAD GOLF COURSE IS SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- Tobacco Road Golf Club is consistently ranked as one of the hardest golf courses in America, and once you see it, you'll know why!
Course architect Mike Strantz once said "I don't care if people think my golf courses are too hard" and that sentiment is on full display at Tobacco Road.
With bunkers and waste areas as deep as craters, Tobacco Road is a true test of skill for any golfer.

Have you had the chance to play Tobacco Road yet? If so, make sure you tell us about your own experience in the comments!
This might be our favorite video we've ever made! Tobacco Road is something you have to see to believe!
That was so good
I live 30 min from Tobacco Road, and have played it multiple times. It is easily one of my favorite courses I have ever played.
I’m a retired PGA Golf Pro and live maybe 15 miles from Tobacco Road. I love playing Tobacco Road and I gotta tell ya, you guys did a great job showing the uniqueness of the course! It’s more fun to play every time you play it too. Highly recommend playing the 3 putt game within your foursome.
Next time you’re in the area, check out Bayonet At Poppy Creek, it’s another gem.
I'm playing this course for the first time two days from now. So excited!
Caddied at this course for ten plus years. Golfers loved it the first time they played it, every time! Stantz designs are super special!
I couldn't disagree more. Of our group of four, only one enjoyed the round. Two of us stopped keeping score completely. The course is extremely over priced and gimmicky. It's not for a high handicapper. The number of blind shots was just silly. I wouldn't recommend the course and 75% of our group said the same.
I just rewatched this after playing Tobacco Road this past weekend. What an experience! This was a great way to relive the round. Well done!
BTW, how were the conditions? I've heard a lot of complaints about how poor the course has degraded the last couple of years. Honestly, the course conditions do not look great in this video. The fairways and tees look especially bad.
Tobacco Road is one of those courses where you end up happy no matter what you shoot.
Great production. Really cool drone shots
Thanks Troy, we really appreciate it! 🙌
This is easily in my top 5 from you guys. I've been watching from the beginning of the channel and your guys' love of the game hasn't gone away a bit, and you can tell you both have drastically improved in all phases of the game. Keep it up guys!
How is there 200 views and only 25 likes. That doesn’t even make sense. It’s so easy to push that 👍🏼 keep up good work guys. your videos are always quality.
Thanks Brad! We appreciate the support 👊
North Carolina is our next golf trip! Tobacco Road has been my top course to play in the US for years now!! Thanks guys!!
I bet you guys have visited all different types of clubhouse settings. TR 19th hole simply sits amongst the quaintness of pines. Cant wait to get back down there. Thanks guys. Hopefully you got to play for free, watching this video expedites my next visit.
Been waiting for this one!!
Ok, just finished....DAMN!! That place is absolutely incredible!! I can see how the more you play it the more you would love it!! Great video gents!! Keep it up!
Mike....so close!!! That was a sweet shot on that par 4 over the trees!!!
love yall's content man....i get pumped every time you release a new video
Thanks so much Rick! 👊👊
If I ever move to NC to live with my brothers, this would be the course I would go to for fun and a challenge. I also have to say that Frank has such a smooth swing and I love when Mike starts building up a fast walk after he swings to look at his ball...thats hilarious to me. Great video again guys.
Insanely good to watch!
Awesome video guys. Loved the music in back ground as well. It fit the scenery really good. Y’all are keeping me in the golf mind set! Still recovering from my back surgery and can’t swing yet.
The ‘crack’ when you guys hit the ball! Just soooo satisfying! 👍👍
right??
Favorite course of all time! Only played once and played out of my mind for me. Dormie Club was still public in 2016 and that was amazing too! No bad courses in the pinehurst area.
Amazing course and one of my favorites. I lived 30 minutes down the road when I was stationed there and tried to play it as much as possible. Awesome content! Keep up the good work.
Thanks Doug! Tobacco Rd is a special place. Hope to get back there again soon.
I played Tobacco Road for the first time in April this year. I absolutely loved the course.
I fell in love the first time I played it 🏌️♂️Tot Hill is a good one but have to play Royal New Kent and Stone House in Va
I'm on my couch watching two guys living my dreamlife 😂 Keep it up guys !!
Wow! Ive been waiting for this video. That course looks amazing. A must play for sure!
Thanks man! Def a must play!
Wow what a golf course, grate video guys 👌👌👌
When I was able to schedule a tee time there last year all I could think of doing was hitting that first tee ball for weeks. It is such a visually stunning course.
love this video ! Very well done ! I can't wait to play here sometime, hopefully this year.
Great content. You 2 have so much fun, brilliant to watch, thanks.
I stopped by on the way home last week. Looks amazing. I can’t wait to play
Definitely play it if you can...such an amazing experience!
Super jealous. Great video. I live in NC and have yet to play Tobacco Road. It’s definitely on my list to play!!
I've played it at least 20 times and I can tell you it's even harder than they made it look. Some of the greens are just torture. You can easily putt the ball off the green on 5 and 16. Find the time but the first time will be tough.
Been waiting for this one!!! Haven’t even watched yet but super stoked to do so!!!!! Such a fun place!!!!
Thanks Andy! This one was fun, hope you enjoy it!
Absolutely epic video! The moon rise on 18….cmon!!!! Played there many times and this was a really true look at how cool TR is.
Awesome video guys! That was fun to watch!
Thanks man!
Wow that is the toughest course I have ever seen, what ever you shot you earned it. Good job guys keep it up.
definitely a bucket list course for me....
What an insane course. I would definitely love to play that.
Played there once with 2 fellows who played there regularly. They told me where to hit it, which was a tremendous help. Shot 76 with two eagles. What killed me was hitting the wrong places on some greens. On two holes, I could not putt at the hole, and I was not about to chip on the greens. Great course, but I liked Tot Hill Farms better.
Great vid! Course looks fun and that black titleist rope cap looks insane! Can’t get that colour in the uk! 😤
Just came across this video. I played golf on one of the local high school teams, and the front 9 was our practice 1 a week before matches started. Fun fact is one day during practice I hit one of my best Happy Gilmore shots on #9 tee. The course is a lot of fun for sure. If you into Sanford again, I'd advise playing the recently redone Quail Ridge. Not long or as challenging, but still a pretty great course.
Playing there on Sunday. I'm in Pinehurst atm
That's awesome! Don't go into Tobacco expecting to score well, just soak it in and enjoy it!
One of if not the most scenic course I have ever played. I took so many photos, straight fanboy'd it when I went there.
It ain’t nothing a video can really how this place is
Great video! And a couple of nice rounds too.
Definitely one of your best videos
Amazing course! Great video. I need to get down there at some point!
Wow great finish
Lol at frank talking about the doozy of the bunker on the first par 3 and he has no idea what's coming
Wonderful vid guys!
That place looks so fun.
Amazing. Easily one of your best yet. 👍👍🇮🇪
Thank you Rob!!
wow that course looks amazing! As a fellow North New Jerseyan I'd love to know where that ranks amongst the toughest courses you guys have played
Easily put it in the top 5 hardest courses we've played.
What a fabulous course! I think golf would be boring if it was easy and that place certainly doesn't look easy, great vid again fellas, they just keep getting better and better ⛳🏌️♂️👍
Appreciate that!!
I’ve definitely gotta get a trip in now!
Insane course one of a kind
Great video Mike and Frank! Making this course look fun despite the challenges it presents…….you guys ever think about letting some subscribers come play a round with you and putting that content out? 👀
Sure, we play with subs a lot ... more locally to NY NJ CT. We're also working on potentially hosting a local golf tournament.
My buddy and I would love to play with you guys! I know there’s thousands of subscribers who would want to do the same!!! But we are active duty military who love your content and admire what you do for the “average” golfer. 🏌🏽♂️ Super fun to watch all your videos
I’m going to have to call Frank David hasselhoff spent the whole time in the beach 😜😜😜😜 looks like a awesome course
😆 don't hassle the Hoff!
@@Golficity lol 😂
What did you guys shoot? Playing TR on Veterans Day! Great video!
Full course vlogs for the win
Man I couldn’t imagine a better life getting paid to golf with your family an having a awesome time! I’d love to do a 36 hole day must be a dam good time
Next time you’re in North Carolina please, please play legacy golf links. By Jackie 2. The best kept secret in the Carolinas
Next year when we come back!
I played it in march. Definitely a nice course but no Pinehurst vibe to it at all in my opinion. Traditional course was in great shape and good price, would definitely play again. Long leaf was really good for the sand hills vibe. I know there's a bunch more.
Those drone clips with the moon are insane! Need to make it to Tobacco Road 💯
Get there! So worth it.
@@Golficity 100p getting there. And getting drone clips under the moonlight 😤
Love this course
Top 5 track in my opinion.. have played it 5 times...77, 71,69,73,70
Impressive scores! And couldn't agree more...this place is solidly in the top 5 we've ever played!
@@Golficity an amazing layout... but the first round there will get ya... but once you know the course it really isn't that hard if you just hit solid shots it is just a beautiful place... you should play tot hill farms as well
"We just played #2. Now we have a daunting task" is a hilarious statement
It would be awesome to know what you guys scored! Awesome video
89 Mike, 84 Frank -- thanks!
Good one guys!
Are the greens quick?
Try tot hill next time you're this way, it's the sister course to tobacco road. Probably a little harder too.
Good video but I was wondering, how do you clean a 60 degree wedge as I got a brand new one and after a few rounds it now need a cleaning so how would I clean with while preserving the grooves
Soft brush, detergent and warm water
The guitar riff at 13:30 sounds like Money For Nothing by Dire Straits lol
Where do I get the book we're playing it in 2 weeks
I live 20 minutes from there, great course
🤩 wow 🤩
Going next Saturday with the boys!! Getting ready for an ass whooping 😂
I have no idea how I missed this video. You need a round two! That drive in 17 nuts! 🏌️
Yes we gotta go back. Greatest drive of my life! - Mike
Holy blind shots!
Tricky. Reminds me of Heritage Oaks in GA.
Gotta come play it!
Ol frank back got loose 27 holes into the day. Good playing .
Great stuff guys. Come down here to the Jersey Shore and join me for 18 holes and the drinks are on me.
Jersey Shore Tour coming soon!
@@Golficity Awesome, collab for a video?
LOL. Come to New Jersey? Everyone from New Jersey moved to North Carolina after screwing up their state.
Who shot this video? Colin Ross?
Haha, that course was just a one and done for me. Expensive and too crazy of a layout.
Yeh it was crazy
Noti squad!
Too rich to play now and I live in the Pinehurst area. Use to play it for $30.00 back in the 90’s
What did you guys shoot?
89 Mike, 84 Frank
Yo let’s goo baby
On #5 you take driver and bomb it at the green. No laying up!
How do I enter for the driver?
Just subscribe! 😉
Ok awesome. I did. Been listening to the podcast
Those bunkers are absolutely ridiculous. I'd just build a house if I ended up in them!
They were!
Playing this tomorrow. Now I'm very scared. LOL
Enjoy it! Tobacco Road is a special place!
Did your putt legit lip out? Or bounce off the flag?
Omg that construction site is so sick!!
Played this first year it opened we couldn’t stop laughing ev1 should play it twice one not enough
I've played there more than 20 times and I think you could have gone more in depth on some of the greens. I would bet your putt on five went off the green but you didn't show it. 5 and 16 can be brutal because of the greens.
Top top golf course
Played here years ago, have to say, the conditions don’t look so good. Too much play maybe? I’d be disappointed to pay the price for raggy tees and fairways…
Tobacco road looks like no joke and would EAT me alive
It is scorable though! Maybe the 5th time you play it :-P
Mike gets steeper and steeper and steeper...I swear I'm going to just eat the money and come work with you
Let's go.
Pinehurst and the adjacent towns are the golf capital of the US. You can play every day for a month at a different course. All the courses are well manicured
. I have to say this the least favorite course I have ever played. Barren waste areas, blind shots thru hills, dirt cliffs, etc… It was like tricked up goofy golf. Some people like this look. I find it unplayable and more like a nature hike.
Number 2 was easier than this course well at least for me
Those tee boxes look awful
You guys have got to stop SWIPING ACROSS THE BALL ON PUTTS
