    • @AK-jm1sc
      @AK-jm1sc 10 місяців тому +18

      It's hard to combat corruption when the cartel has become so massive, because for many officials who want to "do good" all it takes is a serious threat on their family and their life, and suddenly they are in the hands of the cartel as well, or at least willing to look the other way. Not many people would be willing to risk the lives of their children or spouse, even if they wanted to do the right thing. You need more police resources to protect people and military too, to coordinate across all the countries were the cartel is active, and make decisive actions to come after them with overwhelming force.

Stop trying to push your own underlying agenda, i'm Ecuadorian, the reason violence exploded here is because the Mexican cartels and Ecuadorian mafias are taking over ports, in the village I grew up in I heard about the sinaloa cartel operating there, that was like 2017, after a gang leader "El cubano" was beheaded in prison, violence got crazier, Los lobos are probably the most violent gang rn and they have gained alot of people these past three years.

    Ecuador and other Latin American nations could benefit from adopting policies similar to those implemented by President Bukele in El Salvador. In the 1990s, President Fujimori successfully employed a combination of strategic intelligence and robust measures to rid Peru of the scourge of terrorism. However, it is important to note that later on, political factions aligned with leftist ideologies, emphasizing human rights, sought to critique his administration, creating a narrative that attempted to tarnish his legacy and presented a defense for individuals accused of criminal activities.
