The reason you don't know who MF DOOM is because he's basically the god of underground rap. He's been making music since the late 80s but doesn't want to be famous because he thinks music is about the music, not what you look like or how much money you have. Easily one of the best rappers and producers ever.

What is the rating on? Quality of the rapping or just overall? Like I will never listen to an Iggy song in my life but she can rap better than Chief Keef and she's in the bad section and he's in the good section.
This my opinion on what makes "good" rap.
-your words have to be understandable to your audience (audience being the people that can relate to the message in your words
- your flow has to fit the beat but does NOT have to nessecarily Rhyme (rap is poetry and poetry doesnt require rhymes)
- beat has to fit the tone of your message (ex: Hail Mary is not a good beat, BUT it fits the tone of what Tupac is saying)
"Goat" rap is when your message relates to more than your audience and your message is understood even in the future.
Alot of people think cause you can Rhyme fast, that automatically makes you a good rapper, NO it doesnt. A lot of rappers spit super fast but aren't saying shit.
Also, theres a difference in Telling someone something vs Explaining it.
(Ex: in the club poppin bottles vs in the club with faces ive never seen before with their drinks up high)
