Thanks Phil, for a great video. Have to watch out for the testing gangways on the Tangara's LOve the new Intercity trains. Can't wait for them to get in service.
What are things I could do before the D sets come out and everything sort of, changes. I haven't been on a V set or a K set but I have been on everything else, apart from any long distance train or paid one.
Great vid Phil as always, one day I will get back up to Sydney to spend a few days on the trains, times have certainly changed since Tangara testing on the shore when i was relief ASM at St Leonards in the 80's.. By the time the D sets enter revenue service they'll be obsolete technology, how many years late are they again
On the bottom of the front of A1 or maybe I should say "A01" there's a sign which I think says "IMPORTANT Connect both BP (Brake Pipe probably) & (two unknown letters) when towing." I hope that saved a few curious people from having to try and read it themselves. Very nice video. I liked being able to see the V sets race through at high speed.
Those were the trains I made an impromptu video about yesterday. They've been sitting at Gosford since yesterday morning (as far as I know). They were there when I got there at 8:45 yesterday, and they were still there when I left today at 3:30
Loving your vids (worth a binge watch too), keep them up. Edit: Stay safe if your working/vlogging for the next few days as it's spose to be stormy weather for Sydney.
Does one of the signals tell you the colour of the next signal or does it mean something else entirely? Another thing- does anyone know if the D Set will be serving on the Newcastle via T1 line? I understand that originally none of the Intercity services were supposed to run on the T1 but has that changed?
not sure if they will be running the peak hour gosford/wyong via north shore services or if they will still be oscars or if they will be cancelled altogether
Great trains, shit railway line. Coming home from Sydney in the dark doing 20-40km/hr for most of the journey doesn’t matter what carriage you’re in. Hopefully one day they can sort some sort of fast transport out between Syd and Newy
Rhodes has three, one of them being a relief line for freight and service disruptions. T9 stations with quad line arrangement are Denistone and Eastwood only.
@@nicholetheotter1957 Thanks. I was thinking more of tracks rather than stations. I thought the line was quad-tracked from Strathfield to Epping when the bridge at Rhodes was widened, obviously some bits were and some bits weren't. ??
Excellent video

they shoud say it is A1 not A01

been doing the same at eastwood station on the T9. They move just before suburban services resume

I like it haven’t been to Rhodes in o while.
I saw it at Narara on Sunday
I saw that yesterday as well at my school between Meadowbank and West ryde
Nice 👍
Nice
There is about 8-10 of the D sets stable up in the yard at enfield
Re the different T65 gangways, I thought they were the same as the H Set ones.
Also Freight trains are now running to Westdale in Tamworth NSW as a new line has opened between West Tamworth yard and Westdale

makes you wonder why they need to "test" them so much, like they haven't crashed yet, they're safe to use
I believe that Sydney Trains standards require 2 RED OVER RED signals between each train depending on how congested the tracks are

Only two tracks at Rhodes? Which bits of the Epping-Strathfield line are quad?

The Rhodes bridge wasn't widened. It was replaced. The old bridge became a pedestrian and cycle path.
@@peterelvery Oh dear! I remember plans for quadruplication of Rhodes bridge and the main northern line in the 1980s!
1:57 - good suspension
Any Idea Where your going next
👍
3:02 gosh that a set sounds old
Yeah, they're like more than 10 years old now.
