Beautifully restored antique fishing machine. I have never seen a fishing rod and reel like this before. You got it looking much better and working like a charm too. Excellent work.
It was created by St. Croix in the 70s. I actually have one. They really are really cool to have. I even have a popiel pocket fisherman. I'm just trying to get an original instant fisherman to add to my collection
It was made by St. Croix in the 1970s. I have one, but I need to get a handle for it. It has a pretty unique depth finder built in as well. The fishing machine actually came out around the same time as the popiel pocket fisherman and I think the original instant fisherman as well.
bonjour monsieur ,j espère que vous allez bien,je suis un simple pecheur mais curieux, svp je n'arrive pas à comprendre comment se défile le crin au moment du lancer,y a t il un roulement ou autre ;,merci de m' éclairer.
The edge of the bobbin, where the thread (line) is wound, had to be polished to a shine, this is important, otherwise, when casting the bait, the thread would be damaged by the nicks and scratches that remained on the bobbin!
Big fan of your channel I like how you restore stuff and I was just wondering if that fishing reel you’re doing if that’s for sale and how much do you want for it? Thanks.
Great clean-up and assembly. But why would you use epoxy when attaching the guides? The guides are always attached using hot glue to allow for easy removal and replacement should they need replacing. I have built and repaired several rods and would never attempt to repair one that regular glue, super glue, or anything but hot glue was used on. Otherwise, it would take some several steps that could possibly damage the rod, and I couldn't guarantee it. So I don't.

Isn’t it amazing how all the screws come out without an issue
Cual es el punto?
Calling it a fishing "machine" seems very appropriate given the design.

Technically, an antique is more than 100 years old. The phillips head screw made its first appearance in 1936, I believe. Can someone clarify?
