Great video. I'd also consider the case of Jose Trevino who broke his wrist in spring 2023. The yankees decided to completely hide the injury from the public (and roll with trevino as starting catcher) until the pain was unbearable and they had to come clean and shut him down in the summer
1 hour gang
It goes back further i know plenty of Mickey Mantle's injuries probably wouldn't have happened if they did pressure him to get back quicker as he was the face of the yankees.
Karma making things right! Franchise been cursed since they’ve not treated players injuries with respect
L yankees go sox
To me, it sounds as if Cole was saying the players need to be tougher.
This only explains re-injuries, it doesn't explain Stanton coming up lame with a hamstring, or Dominguez straining his UCL. Why do they have so many injuries in the first place? It's uncanny
Been hard to be a Yankee fan for a while. Something’s gotta change.
“Are you hurt or are you injured” is one of the first questions I was taught to answer. It’s surprising that the biggest ball club isn’t more on top of this.
TBH, Tanaka had a ton of miles on his arm. In Japanese high schools, they overwork their players. So I wouldn't expect him to be a workhorse.
Over the past 14 years, Brian Cashman has been one of the worst GMs in baseball while keeping a mostly sterling reputation as one of the best. A baffling thing to witness.
Doctor: "What's your name?"
As a Yankees diehard, the truth hurts 🥲
The toxicity was ushered in by GMS 3 because of his own personal toxic personality and always making the story about himself.
The Culture...is actually damn good right now.
At the end of the day, nothing is going to change. Cashman and his merry band of idiots are going to continue to run the team into the ground while Hal Steinbrenner is more concerned with his team's net worth than making major changes needed.
My buddy’s ex works in some capacity for the Yankees (idk if if for the yanks directly or a company contracted by then) anyways her degree is in sports medicine and she has said that they Yankees doctors operate more like workers comp doctors.
Baseball culture clearly doesn't promote other exercises besides lifting weights, stretching and running it seems. All those UCL and ACL tears indicate a lack of physical movement and not trying to incorporate other exercises into their regiments, some stretching before the game only does so much. Compiled with a lazy position like the DH...not so surprise pikachu these days...these ballplayers also don't even play 162 games anymore.
Yeah cashman and hal are dismantling everything george built.
