Watching the track safety staff (especially with that runaway diesel) is comical. Half the time they’re running around with no ideas/wondering what to do with a pathetic sized fire extinguisher 😂😂😂
Back in the day here in Kansas we had mini rods. They were so fun to watch! They didn't need to have 8,000hp to compete! It took skill and some luck! The winners rarely had over 400hp.
Seeing so many engines burst into flame makes me wonder why the safety personnel on the track don't keep extinguishers with them. Why do they always run around looking for one. There should be several located along the side of the track.
It is now! Back in the day all a guy needed was a junkyard drive train, a cheap chassis, and a set of tractor tires to be competitive. Now ya need a top fuel dragster engine to even show!
WELL what a shower 6-00 ok turbo gone wild it was running didnt blow stuff that extinguisher down the air intake. iv seen lorry drivers do it stops in seconds also most fire marshals seem scared of doing their job.
Awesome! Just a thought but I wonder if it’s time to start designing some kind of a wheel restraint -like they have for monster trucks- so theses big pulling tractor tires that break off don’t roll into the crowd and crush somebody.
How are these things funded? The rigs look insanely expensive and half of the shows look like they didn't even sell many tickets, judging from the stands.
All these engines are running way to rich on fuel and not enough air all that black exhaust smoke is unburnt fuel and with very high EGT the engine go boom run that engine lean of 18:1 and 24:1 air to fuel ratio the engine will be happier rolling coal is not good on a diesel engine and can cause very high and dangerous EGT's which can egnyte the unburnt fuel in the exhaust system.
Diesel fuels contain 85% carbon 15% hydrogen. At stoichiometry, all the oxygen is consumed. When you enrich the mixture beyond stoichiometry, you continue to consume all the oxygen, but the hydrogen in the fuel begins to preferentially consume the oxygen instead of the carbon. Hydrogen having a much greater heat content than carbon, you get more heat (and power) out of the combustion process and a higher temperature, despite the unburned carbon passively soaking up some of that heat.
@@bravoA-su8xm Diesel Engines run better and have more power output running lean not rich because diesel fuel has a much higher BTU output so it's safer to run on a leaner mixture and with diesel engine compression ratios that range from 14:1 to as high as 25:1 then you factor the turbo boost range from 40 to as high as 100 PSI the amount of cylinder pressure in the engine with very high EGT's these engines have a very failure rate you can't tune a diesel engine like you can a gasoline engine a runaway Diesel Engine is a Diesel Engine that is running on it's own engine oil usually caused by a blown turbo that is caused by very high EGT's for extended period of time because the engine exhaust system to start glowing almost white.
@@rustybeatty6567 If they ran then lean there would be far more failures. These guys have been doing this for decades. Besides every high boost high performance diesel runs rich like this! Check out any form of diesel performance and watch the cc o as l roll!

I was thinking the same thing, like does no one there know how to shutdown a runaway 😂
At first I couldn't figure out what was going on, then I realized "he can't stop his engine!" And it all made sense from there.

I’ve seen coastal erosion that would get water or an extinguisher to some of those fires faster than the track officials 😂
I was at a few of these! Fort Recovery, Ashland, Wellington. You actually caught me on camera at 13:14 on the lower right!
No, no, take your time, folks. It's all good. Those fires'll burn themselves out eventually. No worries.

Love watching Goodman’s 1155 Massey, just not getting the tires snapped off lol, that sucked, Beautiful machine 👍👍
500,000$ motors with 10$ front wheels.
Good vids!
Rich man's hobby and sport.

What is the point of using a fire extinguisher the size of a deodorant tin???
Looks like a good way to spend a few thousand dollars
These guys need full fire suits it looks like
Holly macaroni? Hell yeah 🤣🤣🤣
Yep, that’s an expensive haul across country, to blow it up, load the truck back up, and head back home to start wrenchin and ordering parts.
Pretty good video! 👍
Sometimes the tractor blows up, sometimes the driver is an idiot..........
In some of these, if you look really close, you can just see a big bag of $100 notes going up.

I love this motorsport but damn is it expensive
I used to go to Tunica MS to a tractor pull never saw anything that wild.

Yaw those mini rods are to dangerous

6:50 cant anyone just obstruc the fucking air intake?!!?
Some will draw in air from other places other than the intake. Best is to do the clutch thing they did at the end.
I'm sure the prize money is worth more than the tractor?
Did he really just say holy macaroni.
It's hogg he says it all the time
At 5:42 why do we think a fire extinguisher is going to stop a runaway. Or maybe let's try a bottle of water that'll sure stop it from running away 😑
If he could have gotten it right into the air intake it would kill it by displacing oxygen. No air, no combustion.
Fire extinguisher powder doesn't burn
At 14:10 compressor wheel comes out like a saw blade.
What happened 6:40 edit: nvm runaway engine
What happened at 5:30?
Runaway engine
This is the biggest waist of money I’ve ever seen
