Thanks for the video. It covers a lot. If pressed I also "like" the 580 more than the Eco, but I'm thrilled they are both in my collection. I'd like to cover two things you didn't and then make a comment on the these pens acrylic bodies. 1. The nib and feed unit on the 580 unscrew as a unit. This offers some more flexibility when doing a deep cleaning or swapping nibs. Twsbi is famous for making their pens relatively easy to take apart and put back together and the 580 goes one step further than the Eco in making that easy to do. 2. Auditory wow when uncapping and capping pen. Both Eco and 580 make sounds when the very bottom of the grip rubs against the cap threads. However, because of the different materials used in the two pens, the sounds coming out of the Eco are a lower pitch and much more resonant and appealing to my ears. Score one for the Eco! Point about the acrylic. The acrylic on the 580 just feels more refined, fancier. Diamond shaped facets versus cylander is definitely part of what makes the 580 feel more elegant. In addition to that though, it just feels better (to me). I also think the ink in the barrel looks better in the 580.

Glad you reviewed both of these great pens. They both write well above their price point. I have two Eco -Ts and a Diamond 580 AL R Navy and several nibs to swap on each. Fun pens.
Eco-T was my first fountain pen love;so,I have sentimental feelings for that model. I adore the Mint Bleu Eco-T. Scavenging nibs from TWSBI GO pens is a good/cheap way to enjoy a variety of writing experiences. I have GO pens but have never written with one; they have all been donors so far.
The metal top cap-ring on my 580 AL R was knife-blade sharp when I got it. I had to smooth off the sharp edge with a nail file so I could fidget with it while writing.But I do love the pen;have a 1.1mm stub on it now and was writing along with you here at home! Love to watch you write. Watching some left-handers write,they look quite uncomfortable. But you look just like a right-hander writing,just mirrored.
I am inspired now,to add a bottle of Lamy Black to my Encre Noir collection. It is interesting to me that black inks can be so different in both color and writing qualities.
Just got a 30ml of Diamine Onyx Black which I enjoy very much. Pilot take-sumi is also nice.

Llevo usando la pluma Twsbi Eco T Clear desde hace algunos meses y francamente me parece una pluma estupenda.
Mi economía no me permite "errar el tiro" en la elección de plumas. Por este motivo creo que repetiré con la pluma Eco T seguramente en otro color.
Aquí en España los precios son algo más altos: la Eco tiene un precio de 40€ mientras que la 580 Diamond tiene un precio de 75€. Eso quiere decir que puede comprar dos Twsbi Eco por el precio de una 580 Diamond.

580 is a great pen; looks good, feels good. Only problem is one, that more than a few people have noticed- ink starvation after writing half a page or so. Have to set the pen down for a while or use the filler knob to desaturate the feed. Never been able to fix this so the pen languishes in my cupboard.
Have both. Use my 580 with fine nib for sketching. Like the body and size of the pen. Suits my hand and the ink flow is excellent. The eco is equally good, and with an EF nib gives excellent flow when writing.
I have several ECO's, a Mini, and a 580 ALR. I enjoy them all, but the 580 is a "classier" looking pen. The only thing I don't like about the 580 is the metal grip; my fingers rend too slip, do the next one I would get would be like yours.
I agree about the metal/grooved section on the Diamond 580;but,if you get an extra nib it comes with the plastic grip section,which is what I did to lose the slick grip.

Thank you Mick. I am going to order the 580. It looks like the model that would suit my purposes. I like piston fillers pens. Is it easy to clean and maintain?
Maintaining Twsbi pens in general is very easy. A little silicone grease on the piston and a good clean occasionally and you have no problems. Everyday cleaning is simple too. You can remove the nib/nib units too which always helps.

Yes, it does. (handy for a few other pen brands also). And it comes with some grease too.
@@timotiuswidjaja2792 thank you for the tip. I haven't used the 580, yet but will add grease to the piston and flush the nib and feed before using it.
