It turned out really beautiful, so don’t let the wish of “perfection” get to you. Everybody has a learning curve, and I think you solved the problems really well 😊

I think the maple parts actually looked like mother-of-pearl at the end. Maybe the world really is your oyster!

Very cool. The veneer was clever. I never knew you could do that with one of those machines. Nice job.

Wow! What did you not like about it? I love it. I really think that it is one of my favorite pieces that you’ve done. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Remember, you are your own worst critic.

It’s very pretty and to send all that time and not sell it to get something back for your hard work is a shame. I think you don’t give yourself enough credit for your talent. Great job and so glad I found your channel ❤

You are so kind! ❤️ I just didn’t feel like it lived up to my expectations unfortunately but I learned a new technique that I will carry into the future!

you are such a doll ❣️
I don't think you gave yourself enough credit I think you did an amazing job what you could've done is still sold it but for maybe less money than you normally would have had it turned out to your liking
The reason I say that is because when you donate things so I have learned after doing rideshare for 6 1/2 years and meeting a lot of people who work for charitable organizations the people who are there actually take advantage of the things that come through that they feel too good to go on the floor
This is church organizations and some very well-known and well liked organizations it's really only as good as the people who actually invest in that whether it's volunteering or a paid position
if you wanted to donate maybe next time you could donate to a specific family like contact homeless shelter or they do rehousing and find out if they have anyone who's recently been moved into an apartment because you have a piece of furniture that you would like to donate to that individual that way you know it's going to a good place to someone who will be grateful for it as opposed to someone who will see it as a possession and either take it for themselves when it's not even offered to the public and affordable scale
Or sold for more money because it is an MCM
A lot and they determine the price is based on that and those donations are made for free so it goes to their payroll
Which doesn't actually help the community in need in need
That was a pretty big realization for me after living in my car for eight years and having spoken to a lot of people meeting a lot of people doing rideshare while I was going through that but there are ways around it
So I dream about the possibilities and furniture flipping went out and bought $1000 worth of paint during my ears of homelessness after being in a relationship and discarded by my ex narcissist I had a lot of thinking to do and I also had a lot of fears to overcome
But I was in the process of planning for future for others and I could somehow contribute
So when I give you this information it really truly comes from my heart and also from my past experience it was a huge wake up call to see how people operate and misled good intention individual such as yourself are
I'm currently working on a maple table that I bought years ago had bought a ton of furniture a flip so that when I got out of my situation I would be able to generate an income but I am struggling right now I have some real challenges
It is my dream to lay into my creative side
Being led by my intuition which is razor sharp that's another thing I got to find out upon that trauma so far it hasn't disappointed me
Thanks for sharing I really do appreciate you ❤

Kudos for having the patience to get that veneer right. I'd have been in shop making a whole new drawer and then probably patching the drywall in the room later that day if I had tried something that tedious.

You are so bravely talented! Love how you think through your pieces, have a design in mind but can flex if the piece needs it. How cool is doing veneer inlays on a Cricut! Never would have thought of that and it turned out so well!

Love the use of the Cricut. Would have never thought of that. Makes me want to get one now...Im a recent subscriber since Im just getting into refinishing and finding that you can never learn enough! I also love that you use a small wheeled shop stool I have one and LOVE it. Ive never seen anyone on any channel use one. It really helps me get either to eyelevel on some work and reach down low. Looking forward to more vids!

Great job! You could have also glued the entire piece of light color veneer down and once it dries, put the dark inlay piece on top. That’s how they originally made these.

Are you saying just a flat sheet of light color first? Then the cut darker sheet? If so, wouldn't there be a thickness difference between the two colors?

This is adorable and a great style with the inlay! Love it and so glad to see this being done. Maybe use adhesive backed veneer next time and iron it on? Once the glue gets on the veneer front the stain won't penetrate and you get the blotches. Regardless, i wish i was near you to buy this piece.

Love it, I think it turned out great. 😍New sub and so far ur the first furniture flipper I’ve come across where all the pieces I’ve seen genuinely look better after. A lot of times on here I find I like the natural wood or original better, but not with ur taste & skills!

As you went through, I thought you would leave the lighter wood as an accent as a way to tie in the ash to the rest of the piece. To make it look on purpose. Of course I'm a lot older so my idea of "hip" is probably a bit out of date. Lol

It turned out beautiful!! 💯❤️❤️ The only thing that bothered me was… donating to Goodwill 😩 They aren’t non profit and the last I knew, they don’t help any organization for the needy. Salvation Army of Habitat For Humanity does😀

There are more great place to donate other then the 1 picked.
    1 picked sells for profit.
    Food for thought.
