Wonderful stuff
Great tips. Thanks so much
Hi Jon.. thanks for the great tips.. all useful and helpful for being productive. Thanks for compiling them all in one place. Thumbs up!
Thank you for this video!
Thoroughly enjoyed this John! Thanks for another clearly explained and useful video.
Really helpful! Thank you !
Great tips Jon,
I am a Mac user, is it possible to include the equivalent key functions in your videos, I am sure there are lots of Mac users that have the same problem.
Cheers,
Don
Thanks Don! I believe these function key shortcuts should work on the latest Mac version.
Please make video about IF function...
Good video, Jon. Don't you find it annoying that pressing Enter moves the cursor down one cell? I put a stop to that decades ago by adjusting the setting in File|Options.
Instead of pressing enter and driving the cursor down one row, press CONTROL+enter, the cursor will stay in the same cell.
Thanks DRSteele! I think it all depends on the task at hand. When writing and editing formulas then it can definitely be annoying. As Joe mentioned, Ctrl+Enter is a good way to keep the selection on the cell. When doing data entry type tasks then Enter can be very useful to move down to the next cell.
Thanks again for bringing this up. I'll do a video on it in the future.
@@ExcelCampus Thanks Jon. But data entry to the next cell (be it up, down, left right) can be always achieved by typing the data and then using the appropriate arrow key on the keypad to invoke and then move. Keeping the Enter key as 'do not move' is my preference.
Does being in Lotus mode in Options, change the usability of these function keys you just showed?
Great question Mark! I don't use Lotus mode so I'm not 100% sure, but I'd definitely recommend testing them out.
👍👍👍👌👌👌
Merci d’avance. Amicalement.
Ctl Z gets you out without keeping the F9 edit too.
Yes! I came here to say just that. It took me a while to realise it too (think I saw it in another video). Much more useful if you've evaluated a couple of steps within the formula.
For me Tip#1 doesn't work as expected!! instead it works as if I pressed Enter Key. I tried several times.
Sorry to hear that. It could be that F3 is a multi-use key on your keyboard and you might need to press Fn in combination.
I thought I knew enough Excel, but with each video I watch I find out some great tools to use to make my spread sheets better
