Yeah there are players who fans recognize using certain characters only and they must want to fight fire with fire and do a cyrax mirror but will stick to character to avoid the back lash

Cyrax has one-touch kills, unblockable bombs, net resets, and he's STILL just number 3 overall. Jesus Christ this game was insane.

@@its_Criminal1 Kabal and Kenshi were both undoubtedly better. Cyrax lost to both and lost to kitana, but Kabal didn't lose to anyone (almost all 7-3) and Kenshi only really lost to Kabal (most winning matchups were 7-3 or 8-2, some 9-1).

The command grab was even more plus on hit at launch. He used to have a guaranteed bomb set-up off his command grab.

Fuck a command grab, you couldn't even do a jump or certain attacks on him that allowed your character to leave to ground.

It used to be even more plus than that pre-patch. Before, a command grab on hit gave you a guaranteed unblockable bomb into 70%

Ah yes... Cyrax. The character with TODs, safe 50/50s, meter drain, +50 command grab, inescapable setups, plus frames, and ridiculous wake-up options that somehow is still only top 3.
This game is a disaster in the most beautiful way imaginable.

The first character that made me break my controller online *THIS CHARACTER* was a instant doge if anyone was lagging this was basically a auto win bc of his safe unlockables.

I would try to stay on him as a Smoke player just so he wouldn't hit me first. If a good Cyrax player hit me,.. no lie, I would just surf UA-cam on my phone during the combo. Occasionally they might drop something and I can poke out, but usually not. It pained me as I'm not a quitter, but what could you do🤷🏾♂️?
And he also had Breaker setups like he read your break and after the break the bomb hits you and it starts again

Let's not forget that he could amp the net to drain your meter to prevent you from breaking.
Astonishingly, no mention of breaker traps. This character would punish you for breaking too. Think your breaker was saving you from losing your entire health bar? Think again

I remember that we almost got the Platinum trophy, but our internet connection was bad and he started dating...
The combos was hard to do regardless. So your opponent had to respect you unlike mk11 were as you do the same easy to do ass combo over and over.
I love Cyrax in general. It makes me sleep extremely well at night knowing he was broken in this game.

MKX Cyrax was also a god. They nerfed him though, but he used to also have 100% kombos.
Baraka in MK11 has good damage but poor juggles.

I'm glad he finally talked about Cyrax in this game. The rest of the videos were more about characters potential but despite playing a lot and watching gameplay videos, I hardly ever saw almost any of the things he says players do with the characters. With Cyrax though, EVERYONE did this stuff pro or normal player
The mechanic that he described Kabal using to dominate, relative to other NRS games, sounded pretty difficult to master reliably, like tech from a much more complicated game. This guy on the other hand is "big combos then more big combos and also pressure and command grabs" which... Yeah, it makes sense that you'll see more of it on a day to day basis.

@@solsun7350 Kabal is number 1 because he can literally chip you to death if you don't use breaker. But it's a much harder character to learn than Cyrax.
I was never good with Cyrax, but his bombs were so fun to combo with. Speaking of which, it truly is a shame that we can't use Jacqui's generators in any combo in MK11.
Yeah she has bombs,bullets and a portable wall we can never use. Its only in her fatal blow and fatalities

I remember when Chris G got 3-0d by an amazing Cyrax player and Tom Brady was commentating the match. He would look into the camera directly at Tom like he’s was trying to tell him to make a call to NRS or something. Cyrax Needs 100% combos to win 🔥
I love the videos.. and honestly I think that longer looks about the good, bad and broken parts of each character would be super watchable (obviously not the ones that you basically covered in full all ready)
I used to play sektor in this game and all my friends would hound me to play cyrax, I tried to tell them tier lists really don’t matter in this game unless you’re playing at a pro level. Every character is powerful enough to do well at most skill levels
funny that they would try to convince you to play cyrax since the only actual similarity the characters have is that they're robots

I remember labing this reset to get the execution down and then having back to back rage quits before finishing it when I went online.
Please do a cyber sub vid. Either most underrated or best parry. He had staggers, a safe launcher, mid starting/safe/50,50 launchers, unblockable standing resets, an instant safe dive kick, high damage and a 1 frame startup parry and almost no one played him. Still blows my mind to this day. Great vids by the way.
My brother use to main him every time, because Cyrax was his favorite character.
Especially in Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

Great stuff, REO! God damn cyrax was quite the dominautomaton, huh!? Just a minor [admittedly petty] gripe, but it sorta peeves me when folks say stuff like "kill you, one touch". It AIN'T 1 touch. C'mon, man. It is a mix of complex set play with (often) intricate combos that we grind to perfection in the lab (as dunes of salt accumulate and shift like the sands of time that slip away). Saying like "just one touch" makes it sound like one button, and BLIGGETY-BLAM! There goes your entire health bar. Not really even similar. At all. It would be more accurate to say "you can just crumble the opposition's HP into dust off of one hit confirm".
Or something like that....

That was the story of my life getting hit and losing all my life with those old arcade games mvc vs capcom and xmen vs street fighter. Winning relied on perfect blocking and combo drops
that's kind of why I hate these older games. It threw key components of fighting games out the window. Neutral? Fuck no. Footsies? NOPE.
Pressure? LOTS. Like to press buttons? GO NUTS. Plus frame guessing? FOR DAYS.
@@WutTheDeuceGaming IDK about that. MVC2/3 had neutral - it was just that if you got a hit and converted you could do huge damage. But all team fighters are like that - even FighterZ is like that. MVC2 had hella footsies.
Cyrax was my main back in the day. Maaaaan, this character is crazy.

This is why Jade in MK9 was so badass. All you had to do was Shadow Glow to prevent Cyrax broken combos, and boom. I used her online vs every Cyrax, Sektor, Liu Khang, Raiden, Mileena spammer and most of the time I beat them online

Kenshi would have been the best character in the game if not for the fact that he actually does have one bad matchup (Kung Lao) while Kabal had none.
@@williamcronshaw5262 kenshi is the best chacarcter in mk9 and labels pressure didn't work on every character, kenshi was the most bitch made character in nrs history.
@@SolusFather Kabal's pressure worked on every single character, it's just that he couldn't abuse certain strings against shorter characters. Kabal's pressure is only a part of what made Kabal so rediculous: he had excellent zonning as well, he had great counter zonning and mobility, all of his combos ended in a standing reset which lead to more pressure, he had the best sweep in the game, he built meter rediculously quickly. The character has no flaws.
@@williamcronshaw5262 at least his game plan was a bit more complicated and took a bit more skill to execute. Kenshi was so braindead and straight forward like acidic alien was in mkx with the same effecitveness
@@SolusFather In terms of execution maybe. Kenshi had to make a lot more good reads than Kabal did, Kabal controlled the screen so easily with that retarded ass instant air gas blast.

Not gonna lie, Cyrax has been the funnest character to play in MK9.
flashy combos which do a lot are a preference of mine and Cyrax has that style done super well, even other technical set up characters in other fighting games don't have the same feel as Cyrax.
You're an MK genius. Love the vids, especially the MK 9 ones.
They did perfect job for Cyrax in mkx. They balanced him in right way and still keeping him swaggy. He still had many setups that he can choose to reset you, but he couldnt kill you in one reset (Max 60-63% dmg all together) From any setup there is way to escape, and for any escape Cyrax player can set different setup acordingly. He is so fun to use, but if you wanna win with him you have to be skillfull because his optimal combos and setups required strict timing. But when you learn its so satisfying. Favourite char to use by far.

Cryax has been my fav since his first appearance. Loved MK9, had tournaments with friends for years. Had no idea Cyrax was this crazy. Awesome to see. Wanting a MK9 remaster remaster on PS4 and X1!

Its clear someone at NRS doesn't want Cyrax to exist on a main roster especially after the absolute major nerf in MKX, NPC in 11 and a damn Kameo in MK1.
I think it's worth mentioning his command grab isn't a 4 button input or whatever like its easy compared to those

When i hear wake up in MK9 its Cyrax being broken, but than again remember that jade could just 1 frame ignore it. Raiden could teleport invincibly and smoke could do his stuff. love the

I never played mk9. But I feel like I got a _glimpse_ into what it must have been like to fight him. Thanks mk11, for fully including him in the story mode but not at all as a playable character.

I missed this character so much! I’ve been playing him since mk3. I want him in MK11. I loved him in mkx, I wish he had a good mid but other than that he was fine.
I love the part in MK9 where Cyrax said "Time to Cyrax" and Cyrax'ed all over the entire roster.
As Rax you could get away with opponent having a breaker, as there were numerous variations for the same combo that expected the opponent to use a breaker. So yes, if you had two bars against Rax even that did not ensure that you will escape the combo, because there's a good chance that if a Rax player expects it you just reset yourself for him to beat you up more, but now you don't even have the bars for an armored move that might help you get out of it.
