What is your favorite marine fragrance?
This one and Costa Azzura. I use to own the original, but I do like the long lasting new version. I like the projection, after spraying it on my clothing, lasted for 2-3 days. I don't know what you don't like. I prefer performance over everything.
@@alexgeld7173 My 2017 bottle of Oud Minerale outperforms and has a superior scent compared to the new version. I prefer the older one. I don’t like the amped up oily Oud in the new version, I go over all this in my review.
@@TheFragranceChannel I saw, but it’s stronger than the original in a way isn’t it? I have very little left on the bottom. So, when I sprayed this one on my jacket, the ozonic / salt smell stayed there for 3-4 days. That wasn’t the case with the original fragrance. It’s different somehow, and I like the stronger ozonic scent somehow. I just like strong fragrances.
It smells like wood from an old pirate ship. It smells so good.

There was a rerelease between those two as a Sephora exclusive. But equally hard to find as the og lol.
Yes, I believe that release was a watered down version of the original.
I haven’t tried the new one side to side with my original but to me it seemed fresher and saltier. It seems like the new one is definitely more of a mass pleaser bc the old one for some reason unknown to me is VERY decisive.
I think side by side there is noticeable difference, I still prefer the OG.

read it somewhere that the old one had some EU forbidden ingredient - so they reformulated.
Well the new formulation needs that forbidden ingredient back! lol
@@TheFragranceChannel Yeah, I too think that old one smelled bit better, but most of all for me it was that it was very potent. This one is pretty weak. I bought the new one, they removed the old one so quickly I didn't manage to buy. Someone also mentioned that this ingredient appeared harmful, but not sure if to believe that.
@@gbxgbxgbx Yea I have hit or miss experiences with the performance, I feel it projects better in certain weather conditions than others. I actually like it better in the cooler weather.
Estée Lauder did buy Tom Ford brand in entirety. What changed as far as reformulating Oud Minerale was removing a carcinogen ingredient identified by IFRA. The 2023 release is compliant while the previous formulation is no longer compliant due to some potential harmful chemical.
So that’s why the new smell of off! Bring back the carcinogen. I’ll take the old formula all day.
