“4K Ultra HD” means the visual resolution the game can be displayed as on the screen/ TV. It definitely does not have 4K textures.

What about PC hackers making the game unenjoyable.
Aimbot infinite ammo infinite health exploiting the hell out of glitches the list goes on and on. I do feel cross-play would lengthen the longevity of this game and it's multiplayer. However, I feel like the downside of all of the hackers that would just flood this game if it became cross-platform especially people that want to get on and just ruin the experience for other people so they purposefully do this stuff.

If you ever get taken by surprise by a droideka in an enclosed space and can't pop the shield right away.
Just run up and hug the shield, get between the arm blasters and the droideka can't harm you. Comes in handy if you have friendly fire on.
This only works in the first battlefront.

@@SammyBoiiiSW Yeah it's amazing, and I don't see any reasons why to not release it. Generally issues are related to legal stuff/rights, but that game should not present any problems on those terms. Let's hope the next one is that one, I want to play it again with trophy support and HD. Nice channel.

As a switch owner I'm happy we get full 64 player online but think it will be 30 fps. Still,great result for the Switch!🎉

Nah it can run 60fps the first battlefront game came around the same time as Doom 3. Doom 3 was a much more demanding game back then
My only concern is how long the servers stay active with no cross play. Was a bot lobby (off-line) included in this edition if say the servers get discontinued so we can still play like back in the day.

Battlefront 1 has a hard limit of five selectable classes so probably not.
idk if itll have 4k textures, xbox will just render at 4k resolution, like it already does on one x or sieres x
Are the textures actually updated or is it just upscaled up to 4k. I know on the Xbox currently it is upscaled to 4k, it would be really cool if some of the textures are different than the current one on xbox.
That image he showed that had “4K Ultra HD” and “60fps” is talking about screen resolution of the game itself rather than upscaling the textures of each 3D model in the game. I’d be extremely impressed if they upscaled every single texture to higher resolutions but that would be a massive undertaking even with Ai. Even today most modern gpu’s can only load in so many 4K images onto the vram texture cache at one time without running out of memory.
They have access to all the original art assets and they already shown bits of Tantive IV with uncompressed textures in the trailer. Probably not 4K but definitely bigger than 256x256 the game shipped with originally.

@@clonecam117thefilthycasual6 It's not a major difference and it certainly shouldn't be referred to as a remaster. People are forgetting that it's a rerelease with extra content (depending on what platform didn't have it before).
Might be an older game but I love this game way more than the newer ones, love it even more without that disgusting Disney logo on it too, oh I'm so excited for this! I'll be getting this for all my console's especially my switch, Aspyr games has another hit on there hands for sure, thankyou all for making my day even more awesome

Try playing co-op on battlefront 2 EA I normally find people pretty fast and it still counts your points for upgrades and unlocks

Also being aussie, cross platform is my biggest concern. I was never able to play these games when I was young as the internet sucked. With the steam releases and the new servers, I couldn't find any games.... Always been a wires desire just to play these games online

The concerned part what about steam battle front a games are already there ? Will they be gone or be merged together I am waiting for that news. If the old games of battlefront steam will merge like master chief collection if not well it’s kinda a waste to spent another game.

I'll just wait for a physical release. There's really nothing new to these games except moving SWBF1 maps to SWBF2. I would've preferred a total remake or at least updated texture swaps.
Crossplay should definitely be a thing.
There is trophies for PS, Achievements for Xbox and steam but nothing for Nintendo switch! At least from all articles I have read!
Yeah, but switch doesn't have a system like that. Developers can add achievements into their own games for nintendo.
If we do get a new SWBF(3) even if it's made by another company other than EA or the people who made the old games then I hope they listen to what a lot of the fans of the classic games (including myself) asked for which is essentially just SWBF2 2005 with new characters, maps and modern graphics. The whole reason I didn't like EA's SWBF2 (other than bad balancing was because it was so different from the old games and it cut back on so much. My biggest gripe was that you just spawn into vehicles rather than finding them on the map and entering them. I want OG space battles, boarding the ship to destroy it from the inside.

No, it's the same as it used to be. Offline modes will remain offline (campaign, galactic conquest) and multiplayer modes will have multiplayer.

Unpopular opinion: i’m glad there is no cross platform
What I want to know is if this game runs at 60fps on the Switch. It has no reason why it shouldn't. I don't care to get this game on any other platform (maybe Steam, but only after a deep sale, as I already have the orginals). The only reason I would want this game; it to have more options to play on the go and honestly; the Switch is a the most compact form factor with TV support; that I would prefer.
Pulling games off from digital sales do happen. Mortal Kombat 9 for example. Thanks Warner bros.

You realise when people record videos they are edited yeah? 😂 I don't just talk for 10:01 and then stop, the recording was like 13-14 minutes and it just so happens it's cut down to be this long. On another day, a 13-14 minute recording might be 12 minutes, or 8 minutes, it's never the same and I never stretch videos to be a certain length.
Btw 8 minutes is all you need to get additional revenue if that's what you're referring to, not 10, so that makes your comment even more irrelevant 👍

No crossplay means but it on pc if you want to play multiplayer for more than a couple of months. Buy it on consoles if split-screen is more important to you.
The last 2 battlefront games (which are much worse) are still populated on console without crossplay. Even the 2005 version on pc has almost 500 weekly players. If I can still find playstation matches on shitty 2015 battlefront 1, this game will last at least that long.

This is not a remaster. It's a rerelease. Sure it'll have 4k resolution but pc and xbox has had support for over 1080p for years. The closest thing to a remaster is Harrisonfog's Battlefront 2 remaster mod which actually changes models, textures and lighting to a create a faithful remaster of the game.
I own both the games already so I really wish I would get like 75% off at least but I get it. Devs gotta make money.
Will no crossplay really be a problem tho? Like, im mostly buying it for offline play anyway. I never played online as a kid so im not begging for it. Besides, if i want multiplayer ill just play SWBF2 (the new one).

there's so many "modernized" updates to this.. I'd recommend getting it. It'll be more stable, polished, and include more features than the OG's. Idk why people are skimping over these facts "when you can just buy it for $x already"
@@Sullivynn it all comes down to what you play on. if you play on pc and don’t care for the mp then there’s no point. especially with the already existing mods for the game. kinda the same situation for xbox. if you only play single player, then there really isn’t a point
I'm getting it on switch just so I can play it on the go. I remember playing SWBF1 on my old family computer as a kid so having it on the go will be a blast.
@@isaacdurham9183 You seem to miss the part where it's two games fused into one, with a new mode, with upscaled texturing. You also seem to miss the fact that the collection will revitalize the playerbase, as opposed to the barely and rarely 30 players that play BF2 online.

I wish they would get support for some PC mods and put them into the base game (with creator permission), like The Clone Wars Expanded mods.
They don't need permission to incorporate mod ideas that are based off a protected IP.
You can't do that without properly paying the creators of mod assets. Even if they're Star Wars assets/mods, if you ship a game that has assets made by someone not properly compensated you'll get in trouble for violating US labor laws.

No cross play will be big issue, I have it already on Xbox, so can already play all the content just not multi player. so without cross play it’s not really worth buying just for lobbies to last a few months.
Issue is lots of people will wait to see if multi player is alive before buying, resulting in poor numbers in multi player at release
I've got BFII on Xbox and I'll be getting this classic collection because I want to use hero assault on more maps, plus I want to use XL mode - on Xbox - as it is most similar to the movie scenes IMO

Agreed. No cross play is the most glaring issue with the classic collection. Cross gen multiplayer will help a little bit but I don't think it's enough. Cross play is a no brainer move and aspyr really missed the mark

Too many people have PS4’s and some are switching to 5. Finding lobbies is a guarantee.
Enjoying this game for 2 years is way better than having Crossplay and have hackers day 1 for an extra month of longevity.
