I mean, teleworking can be slightly problematic at times but it's honestly easy to counter if you are good at switching targets, but I see how it can be annoying at times, but I personally think that both sides have many advantages and disadvantages from a view of both sides, how it can be harder to hit walkers and easier to hit teleporters but harder to alternate shooting positions while they teleport, and the opposite to walkers, I can say that both sides can be fair or unfair, just in certain situations

I love Burn but teleporters were doing that before he even got the game. We were so good at it that they even nerfed it slightly by making it so you can't shoot grenades while they're in your hand. You have to release and shoot which isn't much harder but still.

Teleporting or not, there are still disadvantages for both
Teleporters: have a cooldown for movement, so they will be easy target once they move to a position, as well having the little indication spot of where they will teleport
Walking: you have less movement than the teleporters, as well making some sound while walking
So everyone is pretty much equal
Also, walking makes some people really motion sick, so they have to use teleport

@@YouthfulPat It absolutely is and top tier walkers will beat teleporters every time. Teleport was in the game for years before they added walking, and when they added walking, they carefully balanced it since the game was designed for teleport. Which is why the pistol's paintballs are slow versus hitscan weapons. The people kicking your butt using teleport could easily do the same on walking. They're not good because of teleport, they're good because they're mostly OG players with hundreds and hundreds of hours in the game.

2017 player here, The only movement mode was Teleporting, I have to say PVP was not fun then, It was just waiting to see where the person would Teleport to.
Now with the new movement mode, Its much better as they can't Teleport behind you.

personally, playing shooter games while teleporting reminds me of those weird arcade shooter fps game where you’re locked in place and cant move until all the enemies are dead
Maybe there should be specific rooms that have no teleporting rules, just to make it fair. No hate on you if you teleport but sometimes it's frustrating and I think separate rooms would do alot for people's enjoyment
@@foschep that's why I want there to be separate rooms so that people who NEED teleportation can use it without having to deal with people who aren't fond of it, there's literally no reason not to implement it sense it helps both parties. Noone needs to "cope" with anything.

The hate isn't necessary but the fact that a teleporter can instantly disappear from a spot at will and appear somewhere else (i.e. behind you or out of reach) does give them an unfair advantage imo

@@therealjollunen-1590 of course lol. I've played many myself and they can be quite enjoyable. The problem comes in when you try to mix two different game modes together. Even then, it can work but it does often create some unfair advantages unfortunately.

Here’s my take on teleporting. A way to fix people swapping between walk and tp is to make people choose one option and have to stick with it. That way teleporting is only used by players who get motion sick
at least maybe a 6 month cooldown between switching
@@iambreadbear3325 6 months is a lot, I think 1 hour at first (so players can tell if it’s useful) gradually increasing the more often it’s done capping at a month or two

I always found teleporting players... Easier. I think I just got used to watching peoples hands more and getting kinda good at predicting the general area they're wanting to teleport to.

Only really get mad at teleporters who use it for the advantage, but if they’re using it because they have drift or get motion sick then that’s fine. But teleporting can be really annoying sometimes, especially when they just go behind you.

I just remembered something that steam vr can do. It can change the world scale size. So you can basically use walk vr and teleport vr if you're big enough
The problem with teleporting and why it is basically cheating, is teleporters' ability to easily outrun any walkers. And they're not just faster, their ability to go straight through obstacles is clearly an unfair advantage as well. And if their mobility advantage wasn't one-sided enough, teleporters can instantly climb up objects and platforms that take several seconds for other players to clear. It is insanely easy for a teleporter to clear one end of the map to the other with very few opportunities to even be shot at, let alone hit.
Another OP advantage teleporters have is if they are close enough, they can instantly appear behind or to either side of you, with no indication of where they are headed because their target circle is out of your field of view. And if you take your eye off them to try and find it, you're out.
**In any other FPS**, being able to pass through obstacles, instantly climb walls, move faster than other players, and instantly appear behind them would DEFINITELY be considered cheating. But in Rec Room, it's an allowable cheat.
I understand that people get motion sickness, but put them in matches with other teleporters only. Then skill will be the deciding factor, not extremely OP mobility advantages.

I've found out now like a few others have why most other players in recroom paintball are getting more hits and more accuracy with their shots it's all to do with people's strong internet connection so if you have a weak internet connection then your in trouble you going to lose and also there is bugs in the game that still haven't been fixed.

I haven't played Rec Room in a long time, but it's crazy that teleporting has become this frowned upon. It's one of the staples of VR. I can't play a VR game without it or else I get sick. I thought teleporting was actually somewhat balanced in this game because there's a pause after you warp. I took a break from Rec Room because the community was getting toxic and now I don't think I'll ever play it again after seeing this.

Teleporting.. in VR games is a Solutions for Motion Sickness.. I get that in Competitive games it may seem like an advantage... but it's not an unfair one.. seeing how everyone has access to it.. due to it being a setting you can switch on and off..

i had so many situations where a pvp game would be ruined by a teleporter, in battle royale i had people using teleport and making it literally impossible to hit them with how often they teleport, player made games where teleporters would teleport into a building people are holding and nobody would notice since they didnt physically go through the door, only a green line passed their sight, even had people in paintball teleport from behind cover to behind me, no way for me to react when i never had line of sight yet they could pass me entirely
