Love the idea of it. Constant action vs constant action. Not sure Bassett has the frame for 165 tho. AND, he will probably end up as a teammate as opposed to an opponent. Just the way things are going for Penn State these days.
I’m headed to PSU for this dual. Can you guys do me a favor and not do the whole we are Penn state thank you nonsense every 3 minutes? I get it. You love your team. But it is just so damn corny and annoying. Even the PSU fans cringe when they hear that pre pubescent voice screaming “we are!” For the 70th time. Thanks.
@saljablo2767 Which is why they moved it to the BJC right? How do you get more true wrestling fans if there's no access. Just go to the match and enjoy it. People complain about everything.
Iowa is #2 they match-up in several weight classes they could win. If they go in thinking they already lost, they might as well stay home and not make the trip. If they can be motivated and win a couple in lower classes they could make it interesting. Coaching is 70% winning, the rest is guts and grinding it out to the last second! Go Hawks!
If it comes down to coaching, Iowa should stay home. Iowa still teaches brutality over technique….Ayala wasn’t hurt in a match, so that indicates he was hurt in practice….how does this continually happen to Iowa….must be still running through all those walls for Tom
Now you know the difference between Cael and Brands as coaches. Cael wouldn’t have sent young Ferrari to take a loss to Starroci the best guy in the country when Arnold is the starter and braggart. Only will hurt Ferrari’ development. Hopefully it won’t hurt his confidence in the future
He’s not a national champion. He’s undersized and should be at 174. Angelo is the better wrestler at 184 and in my opinion would give Starocci the better match.
@jgrigg404495 My point is that everyone in Iowa's lineup is training to be a national champion, and sitting against the guy you have to beat to reach your goal doesn't move you closer to that goal.
I think Ferrari wrestles, as Tom will try to protect Gabe’s seed, and probably feels it would be emotionally demoralizing on Gabe. The only question should be, if Iowa gets blown out, after spending all this money on their team because they can’t develop talent like Cael can, are the twinkies on the hot seat?
