Hope in Hard Times

Abby and Aaron Mahanay’s daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just three weeks before her first day of preschool. As the couple reeled from this devastating news and jumped into action to care for their daughter’s needs, they found comfort and hope in a place they least expected: from a seminarian on pastoral internship. The day he walked into the hospital with a giant teddy bear changed their lives forever.
