All my past relationships were abusive…
I was NEVER addicted to the abuse…
I craved for any kind of niceness and that trumped the abuse…it felt better to be treated nice once a week then not at all..
Because I am such a kind gentle person I did not see the red flags…as I only saw the kindness in them…
Until 6 months or so…
In my heart I knew there would be a kind caring man for me…
He has not presented himself yet…
I was brought up in abuse…that’s how I thought everyone grew up…alcoholic parents…constant yelling…
Now I am 53 studying to be a therapist …I have learned not everyone in my era grew up this way…
Some had loving functioning families. …
On a separate note…
I love the term interdependent …

That reminds me of a Looney Tunes cartoon in which Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam compete for being voted as mayor. They do all sort of things to sabotage each other's candidature.
Turns out at the end the winner is a horse that did not appear throughout the cartoon and we did not even know until this point that he was a candidate

Super helpful, love the advice on how we should detach from the emotions we feel about our fantasies. I was frustrated by fantasies were something I couldn’t feel.

What if someone you don’t want who is obsessed with you tries to apply this method to you? I have an ex who is obsessed with me for a decade and their energy is invasive. There’s not any amount of energy or weird methods this person can ever do to convince me. The energy is unattractive and needy and keeps hovering back by stalking me on social media , even after changing the name still finds me. It makes me so angry.
