When I was a paper boy, one of my customers had 70ss 454 with the cowl induction hood and Hurst 4 speed.i loved that car have always loved those Chevelles.
Omg I miss those sounds... Had a 71 nova with a 396 muncie .I'd tear the tires off every chance I could... Had a holley 850 on it ran flat out in tenn, tearing down them country roads in 86 with 450 h.p. my god I was on heaven
Dang. Watched this video for about an hour!!!! Cant wait to drive mine. 70 chevelle 454/t56. Pushing 515 hp. Hope the trans last. 70 was my first car. I was16. I did some mechanic work for a guy and he gave it to me. Total junk from his eyes, but a diamond in mine. Now I'm 41 and just bought me one. In a few weeks, I should have a smile from ear to ear!!!!

@@samspace81 Woah, a reply from the source! I am honored. I have to ask, is this car still in the family? I would love to see a new upload. Anyways this is my dream car, engine, paint, everything. @@samspace81 oh you know what you’re right it was the 70 454 ss that was the most powerful one. I wasn’t paying attention to it being a 396 in the vid.
Don't get me wrong, I love Detroit muscle from 60s & 70s. But....If you're a gearhead and like fast & quick cars, today is a good day. A respectable 60s or 70s muscle car was good for a 13.5 quarter mile. Most were in the 14s. Today Subarus run 13s for God's sake! I saw Motor trend take a stock 18 GT Mustang with 10 speed and rip an 11.83! Enjoy today boys because the greens want your internal combustion engine deleted
That would vary greatly depending on the level of restoration NEEDED. Fully restored is a condition and the price would depend on the condition of the car before work began if it didn't need much the cost for that restoration would be less than one that was in bad shape. If you were just trying to find one to buy already restored, those values can very greatly as well. If it is original those command higher prices as they are collector items, modernized specimens are cheaper.
my dad had one, all original, only thing that wasnt stock was that he put a bottle on it. he sold it for college money, and now, 26 years later says "why the hell did i get rid of that car?"
Today I took a ride in my 56’ chevy pick up that has a 350 swapped in and I couldn’t help my self when i got out on the road and that pull in 2nd from just hammering down then the deafening sound of that screaming 350 trying to get into 3rd then i looked down and realized i was pushing 80 and still rolling on through the power so i gave it just a little more until i felt she had ran enough and then i went for another round by round ten i lost count of how many times i had done it and did it a few more just to be safe

It is amazing that a 3 liter engine today puts out the same power as the 396 (6.4L) did back then.
Which 3 liter are you talking about??
@@samspace81 the 3.5 liter ego boost high output does 450HP and over 500T
