COMMUNITY DRUM PRAYER FOR GLOBAL PEACE
On October 7, 2023, the world fell silent as the bombs fell on Gaza.
Victims included hundreds of young people gathered at a music festival in honor of peace and love.
As my heart continues to break watching the news, I don’t have many words. All I know is that violence is not the answer and the vast majority of us just want a peaceful, comfortable life with our loved ones.
With the war in Israel, Ukraine and so many others going on around the world right now, it is hard to keep any sense of faith in humanity. But this is the time to remember there is hope. There is always hope.
I invite you now to pick up your drum (or a box, pot or book) and join us in a global drum for peace.
We will beat in unison for the thousands of lives lost, for the injured, for the missing, and for the traumatized and grieving families whose lives are forever changed because of war.
Together, in community, we can hope to shine a bit of light in these dark times.
This drum prayer was recorded at my retreat in Crete.
My students and I paused and drummed together, I hope you will join us.
