Impressive fish room. MTS is a thing!
Thanks! And it sure is!
I paint the bottoms of my aquariums so I don’t get that mirror look on my bare bottoms, if your interested I suggest you try it out!
Interesting, I'll have to give that a try!
What are the plants with the roots floating plants
Sarah Silverfin
I like your garbage leafy biotope aquariums in the garage much more than the fancy aquascapes in the house.
vibrating background noise from air pumps made it really dificult to listen.
Do you rinse the leaves from your yard before you put them in your tanks?
Matthew mcfinnaughy
Robert de Fisherman
I love updates on your breeding projects. Especially seeing all the fry. I also use leaves from my garden in my tanks, all the fish enjoy pecking at them. My Amano shrimp and snails absolutely love them they’ll turn them into leaf skeletons within days. 😂
Thanks! And yes, can't believe it took me so long to put leaves in my tank. Fish and shrimp love it
Lovely
Beautiful African jewel cichlid!! 0:12
Good tour.
On such tours I always lack information about maintenance: how often the water is changed, what percentage, how much time is spent on it, etc.
The next time I maintenance my tank I'll film it and explain my process and tools I use
What are the roots that are coming from the top in the swords, pygmy coreys...etc?
Those are dwarf water Lettuce!
A delightful video ❤
Are those sticker thermometers accurate? will any leaf create that biofilm or certain types of leaves?
I've never tested it against other thermometers so couldn't be sure but I use them on all my aquariums. And yes, all leaves and wood will create biofilm
@@thedirtytank Thank you for the info, I might just have to find a leaf or two for my guppy tanks and my fry tanks.
Love this fish room and your enthusiasm! I also love how that little ram kept raising its dorsal like a flag! PS: Your anti-aquascapes are actually quite beautiful.
Anti-Aquascapes...I Like the sound of that. I think you just gave me my next video idea. Now, I am gonna need another tank! Ha
German Black Rams are my favorite! Jewls were gorgeous too! Love your tanks with all the leaves. So natural and the fish love that!
I love all your tanks. They are awesome.
What’s the cool plant with the roots and super fine greenery?
Hmm, maybe dwarf water Lettuce. It's the floating plant with long roots
When I seen your plants growing like the dwarf hair grass I just add to subscribe.👍 That would be a great how to video in the future.
That's a good idea, I am pretty sure I have footage of when I first started my dwarf hair grass tray I just have to find it because it was a while ago
How do you keep the water temperature under control in the garage? I’m wanting to do something similar, but I’m afraid the winters and summers will be too much.
It depends where you live. If you have weather similar to the Carolinas then getting a heater that is rated for twice the size of the tank its going in will work for winters. In the summers a fan and Stocking only tropical fish will do...again depends on where you live.
@@thedirtytankthank you! I’m in Arkansas. I’ll have to set something up in there with a thermometer and see what the ranges are before I’ll feel comfortable with it.
👍🏻👍🏻

Send me some of them allergy eaters. I could use em
I have 3 left for sale on our website!
what is the name of your floaters?
Dwarf water Lettuce!
What type of tree are you getting the leaves from? That's not adding tannens to the water.
I use maple and oak leaves. They produce some tannis but not a lot. Nothing like the catappa leaves
@@thedirtytank thanks for the reply.. actually yesterday I was pulling oak leaves out of a tub I started for raising a food source for my fish. The water was really black from the tannens. I can't remember who said on UA-cam not to use oak leaves, but there's so many different opinions.
I'm very new to Fish keeping but I think natural is always the way to go. I hope I don't get to addicted to this hobby but it's already started.
In 4 weeks time I have 2 tanks going and 3 empty tanks sitting in my bedroom I will be starting.
I found out it is so much more than " keeping fish" . It reminds me of when I was young and was a bee keeper. It's the science that hooks me.
And you sell your breeded fish to pet shops , is that what you do with these fish ?
Fish shops, on my website or at aquatic conventions or swaps
how do you sell tropical fish thru the mail in the WINTER TIME.. do you wait until warmer weather ?@@thedirtytank
Wow, love it!! Just beautiful!!
Thanks!
do you think pond soil would work? ive seen md fish tanks use it
I've personally never used it but if MD is using it then it's definitely working!
@@thedirtytank alright thanks!
It all depends on the pond. My 1st tank setup I used the muck from my pond and half the water. Also 3 minnows that came with the water. After 2 weeks I dumped it all out except the fish because I couldn't get the water to clear up.
I think the problem was runoff from the land around me which is farmed and sprayed with chemical. My pond is fairly large I guess around a acre or more but the quality is lacking.
@@ranjanty sadly i don't have a pond, i wish tho, its just pond compost in bags
