On a Buick LeSabre... If you push the 'Cruise Control' button and nothing happens (no amber light on in the on/off button) the easiest and therefore the FIRST thing to check is the #14 fuse in the fuse-box under the hood. If that is not the problem, the SECOND thing is check fuses under the steering column. (Under the steering wheel, about where your left knee is when driving). Remove the plastic cover panel (it just pulls off), then remove the steel plate that is under that panel (just four 10mm screws). There is a small black rectangular plastic box with wires sticking out of it. Open the box and you will find three 2 AMP fuses. Check these for a burn-out. They control the lights/function of the buttons on your steering wheel. AND they are not mentioned in the owners manual. This job takes about 10 minutes to do, and it will save you hours or even days of frustration. (I just fixed my own 2004 Buick Lesabre this way; and also fixed a friends 2001 Lesabre this way; so I'm guessing they all have these 2 amp fuses under the steering column).

And thanks Rivlanta for this very informative video. Drove my coach 750 miles without cruise. As soon as the thermometer gets above zero, I hope to rectify that.

Thank you for posting this. Just fixed a 1997 Oldsmobile 88 LS. It was the break switch location in regards to the break pedal.

@prel91 You're welcome...plan to keep adding to my channel as long as I can continue acquiring these classic videos. They are not easy to find as time goes by.

I have a 1992 chevy caprice. It does look like the buick. I have a couple of questions:
1.- If VSS sensor or module are bad, speedmeter must not show speed, isn´t it?
2.- I obtained 0DCV at terminal G of Cruise control module. Does it mean module is bad? It is serviceable but I have not diagrams and numbers of IC's are not common
3.- (and last) I found some modules of second hand. I can assume that if Electronic board of the module are like mine, module is fully compatible although part number is different or there is any PIC or ROM information recorded in any of the IC's?
    Best regards

Whoa Edon! You managed to tuck an LT1 into a V6 cutlass? Was that front or rear wheel drive. I have a 96 Cadillac hearse that ways way over 6000 pounds and has great performance. I always wondered how easy it would be to tuck an LT1 in something originally not meant for it. Maybe an Allero or Cavileer?
