Been to France 2x. I was obsessed with France as a kid. I think it was the audio Madeleine bks that had French children's songs at the end. My mom got me a cassette tape course when I was little. Took 4 yrs of French in hs & was thinking in French by the last yr. I read Le Petit Prince in French 4. Clepped out of 2 semesters of French in college. 1st time I went to France was when I was a sr in high school at Cmas. We were staying with friends in Germany & drove to Strasbourg. The cathedral was stunning & cmas markets were so fun. I loved reading all the signs in French. 2nd time I went to France was my jr yr in college with my college choir. We took the chunnel from London. We were only in Paris for 6 hrs. I had messed up my foot in London so I was limping around Paris. Didn't get to see much of anything cuz we were performing in another city the next day. My fav city that we went to in France was St. Victor which is near St. Etienne. So peaceful & lovely. We also went to the Lorraine valley too. Someday I shall go back & show my hubs. I have been doing the duolingo French comp app to review my French for about 1 yr now. These courses u mentioned sound more interactive. I may check them out if I can ever afford a European vacay. I read a bk called Why French Women Don't Get Fat & she talked about how their dinner hour was drawn out for many hrs too

I did my internship in Paris for 3 months. It was a dream come true to me! Didn’t know about the banks! 😬 sounds like they like to make things little bit more harder 😅
This was very informative! I visited southern France once and definitely experienced the energy of not wanting to help me when it came to customer service, LOL. Despite some of these experiences I still want to go back and visit sometime hopefully in the near future. These tips will definitely be helpful for going into this experience with a fresh perspective and tools. Thank you!! 😄
Oh wow. I had my mouth hanging open, listening to your banking nightmares. I mean, Germany is famous for it's bureaucracy, but even here it's possible, to set up a bank account online and you'll receive all your stuff within a week. And as for 'adding' people, just to make a transfer? In what decade do they life? That's ridiculous, in this time and age. Wow, just wow. That must have been a nightmare to deal with in a foreign language 😬
I dont think the sending money is true anymore ! Maybe it depends of the bank but if I want to send money to a new person I just have to get a special code and then I can add this person and send them money
I guess it also depends on the bank. I know it's still true for several of my friends in France because we recently went through this trying to send each other money. In Australia and England you just put the person's bank details into your banking app on your phone and the money immediately arrives. Takes less than a minute to send anyone money. No special code. No permission. Just send it.
I'm moved abroad from the UK to Italy and I was naive thinking it would be la dolce vita. It's so frustrating getting even the simplest things done! Plus I've really struggled to make friends, I've found it so different as the women here don't tend to hang out with the girls like we Brits do and generally seem insecure that you're going to take their boyfriend /husband from them. I'm going back to the UK as I've really appreciated how forward and efficient they are for a lot of things. Including being vegan! I get laughed at here for not eating meat 🙄 But at least I tried! Italy seems very similar to France from what you said. Its definitely given me confidence living abroad! Just not looking forward to the judgement from people about how I could leave all that sunshine for all the problems with the UK rn. But I'm tired of always feeling out of my comfort zone and lonely. How have you found being in the UK as a vegan compared to France? Love your channel so much! It's so validating and comforting 🥰🥰🥰
I’ve heard that immigrants and expats usually find it easier to make friends with fellow immigrants, expats, or foreigners, and that would help with the loneliness. It’s always more difficult to make friends with locals or natives who have established friendship groups and a settled way of life, it takes years to break barriers with them.
