      How much effort does it really take to run jump swim and ride a bicycle when you don’t have to go to work or put food on the table?
      I guarantee you it’s a lot harder to become an Olympic athlete while you’re trying to raise a family. For all intense and purposes, he is essentially a racehorse, glorified and subsidized by the British people.

      @@Starkillr1you clown. Doing this year round pushing your body to the limit in all weathers is a lot more difficult than it looks. Just to quantify the greatness of this humble guy, in 2018, at the age of 20, he has run the 10,000m in 27m:51s (European Cup). For comparison, the great Mo Farah, in 2010 (when he was 27) has run the same distance in 28m:24s winning the European title in Barcelona.

    Were these actual training sessions? If so, I am impressed by the lack of data recording devices. Alex had no sports watch or smart goggles during the swim and no computer or sports watch on the bike. He might have been using a sports watch during the run.

    • @nandc2009
      @nandc2009 Місяць тому +2

      That finish in Boston wasn’t bad, even if it looked it. He was impersonating footballers and there wouldn’t have been any concern about it if Hayden Wilde hadn’t looked aggrieved at him doing it. Wilde would have been annoyed at coming second again and would also have been tired after a tough race. Yee’s personality is obvious from all his interviews.

    OK, but what does he do for a day job so that everybody else who works at Starbucks can realize that they too can be an Olympic athlete?
    How does he make money and also have time to train for the Olympics or do we subsidize this man to be entertainment for us like we live in the Colosseum?

    • @AbiSaysThings
      @AbiSaysThings Місяць тому

      Yes "we" subsidise sport in the UK but not much of it comes from the government, a lot of it is lottery funding and then people as successful as him do make modest prize money and get sponsorships. And if you're working at Starbucks it's maybe too late for you to pick up a new sport and go pro by that point.
