We spent this weekend at Big Ridge State Park just up the road from that marina I think. It’s great very quiet, shady and on the lake. We didn’t go to the grist mill. But this gives us a reason to go back to this area which is not far from Maryville. I agree with you on people writing their names on the old buildings. Thanks for another great video. God bless.

East Tennessee is blessed with many awesome lakes. Norris is beautiful. Watauga, South Holston, Boone in North East Tn. God's Country.

The hike (above and the other side of the dam) is a great walk. Try it out the next time you get up that way. Thanks for the great vids...!

Love the virtual exploration of our future home. Just 4 month to go. Are there swimming beaches at Norris lake?

Did you go to Clinch River Brewing? You drove past it on the way from the Dam to the Mill. Good food and excellent beer. Kind of odd hours though. The hikes on the TVA land next to the Dam are really good. Also good camping there.

Hello Hoag and Bab's! May I ask what kind of board you are using? Those would be great for my husband, he has 10% balance🤣. I live on a lake and use my old windsurf boards, I call em "ghetto paddle boards from the 80"s"❤‍🔥💪I think the width of those would be great! Nice vid!✊Never mind! I just saw, Aurora! Thank you

Don't worry about the water snakes. Sometimes they can be a little aggressive, but they aren't poisonous. There are no cottonmouths in east TN. Generally speaking, copperheads and rattlers avoid water and/or swimming as well. Not sure where the "closer to KY the more snakes there are" comes from, but being a born a bred East Tennessean, I've had plenty of encounters. Just enjoy the water. LOVED the comment about the writing on the walls. Why do so many people feel the need to deface stuff? Good video. Keep them coming...

OMG I love your license plate!! Suits you perfectly 👍🏼 Beautiful and peaceful scenery. Looks so relaxing. You should’ve been in TN your whole life lol. Hardly anyone is out there. Oh no I don’t like snakes. 😲 So far I’ve only seen rattlesnakes at a comfortable distance. I’ve always wanted a pontoon boat 😍 At least your lakes have water…enjoy.😌 There’s plenty of history to explore there.

Norris is good, had a boat on it for several years, but Dale Hollow is equal to if not better.

If you didn't drive over to Rocky Top aka Lake City it's a beautiful drive and only about 5 or 6 miles. The town of Norris is an interesting place to see just don't blink. Also the Museum of Appalachia is just a short distance from I 75 off exit 122. There are a few parks also on Norris lake that are good swimming and picnicking. Now your in my neck of the woods. Don't forget Melton lake either. It just off I 40 on Hwy 95 which is the same as Hwy 321 coming out of Lenoir City. Love this place, wouldn't be anywhere else but East Tennessee. It doesn't have any Ocean front beaches but whe needs all that sand anyway it just gets in everthing.

What part of Tennessee did you all move to Hoag? We just had an offer accepted for a house in New Tazewell and Norris Lake is visible from the back porch. Looking forward to retirement there in 5 years.
