@@AnimalsVehiclesAndMore the much smaller tamandua also have same strength and ferociousness. They have funny gait to make sure their Freddy Kruger's hands always sharp
It's really interesting how the humpback whale, an animal always seen as a gentle giant, is the only animal known to go out of its way to attack the apex predator of the ocean, even going so far as to protect other whales of separate species! This really just goes to show how amazing highly intelligent animals are, and it's incredibly fascinating to see behavior like this!
There’s a theory that’s why they have pectoral fins as big as they do, they’re very mobile and covered in barnacles. They use them as clubs offensively and that’s seems to be a huge part of what gives them the edge over other whales, they’re not even in the top 5 size wise!
Add the anteater to the list of animals that will kill you but won't eat you. Hippopotamus, cassowary, moose, elk , rhino, elephants zebra, to name a few.
I remember footage of a seal trapped on floating ice being hunted by Orcas, the orcas tipped it off the ice into the water, Only for a massive bull humpback to surface underneath the seal. The seal was then safe sitting on this huge male humpback who stayed with the seal untill the orcas gave up and left.
Video idea: animals with generational trauma. The humpback whales made me think of it. I had heard that was the reason that they will go out of their way to go after some orcas. Generations of having to worry about them finally made them react, and now it is not surprising behavior from them. Just like some cheetah’s having surrogate/emotional support dogs in zoos. The trauma of always having so many predators hunt them has made them prone to anxiety. Why some exhibits have a dog randomly in the cheetah enclosure.
Sounds like the entire whale population has had enough of the orcas shenanigans. Whales: hey! Stop eating us ya freaking cannibals! Eat fish like the rest of us!
The ones I guessed before watching: Giant anteaters with jaguars (in the thumbnail lol) African buffalo with lions Humpback whales with orcas My only other guess was sloth bears with tigers.
This is interesting. I remember reading as a kid that bears are omnivores because the diet of a bear is fruits, nuts, and berries and fish. I don't remember reading of or seeing in a documentary of bears eating any other meat, but fish.
I have read that moose sometimes become the target of orca's when they swim across a Fjörd or to an island. Pretty sure even the moose can't survive that xD.
The Humpback Whale also will help other animals in danger .....wow....a fabulous creature but very gentle too if NOT threatened.....but to attack Orcas is not a simple thing to attempt.....long may we help these magnificent animals they surely deserve our help after almost hunting them to extinction less than a 100 years ago.
I’d love to see this as a series. I could cranes and sloth bears being on a list like this since the two have killed apex predators like eagles and tigers on record
Humpbacks deserve all the love their getting, especially since they go out of their way to help other marine mammals from orcas, but Sperm whales need some love too, they’re one of the few animals orcas actively avoid!
I'm morbidly curious in how anteaters fight, is it a stabbing punch type deal? We don't have too many animals that can & do move their arms like that even if it's a solid hook. I'll admit I fully underestimate their potential but I respect that they fight jaguar and that says a monumental amount if it's 1 me vs 1 giant anteater.
Do extinct apex predators that hunt dangerous prey Titanoboa vs crocodiles Tyrannosaurus rex vs hell creek herbivores Megalodon vs liythatan Tylosaurus vs thlassotitan saurophaginax vs sauropods
Apparently orcas leave pilot whales alone and , in fact, flee from pilot whales when ever they see them, mostly because they have sharp teeth too, and though not as big as orcas but are still to big to be targeted. So theses guys regularly chase orcas around!!!
It’s lionesses that really struggle to take down adult buffaloes. Male lions can take down adult buffalo with surprising ease. Only a adult bull in its prime will pose a challenge to a male lion
I would like your help. I want to find an environmental conservation organization in the USA to volunteer for. I am outside the United States and I am fond of North American wildlife.
Nice video. You showed the blue whale and stated it was the largest animal alive today. I'm not sure if you're saying the largest animal that lives today, or if you're saying that they're the largest animal alive today, meaning in the past, there were bigger. If it's the first one, then it's worded a little strange since you could say the largest animal to ever live. The blue whale is bigger than the biggest dinosaur to ever live. They are about the size of 30 T-rexs. Other than that, it was very informative.
Another animal I can think of that's able to fight back against predators, and defeat them, is the American Mink. It's a formidable predator in and of itself, as it's able to take down animals much larger than itself. Some animals Minks are known to go after are Gulls, Ducks, Geese, and even Swans! However, American Mink are sometimes targeted by predators such as Foxes, Bobcats, Coyotes, and even Great-Horned Owls. Despite this, Minks are very nimble, agile, have sharp teeth and claws, and they spray a foul-smelling, oily fluid to deter predators. There are videos out there of Minks defending themselves against Bobcats and Coyotes, and it's very unique to see. However, American Mink are also very curious animals, and it's very easy to trap them.
This video was cool, but there's nowhere in Africa where baboons make up the majority of African wild dogs food! Like not even close! African wild dogs have only ever been documented killing young ones. And even then it's rare because the adult males are too dangerous! And the whole thing about leopards killing gorillas, also rare af! Have they killed male gorillas before? Yes, but the majority of time they get smashed and chased off! I've seen 2 occasions of the aftermath of Silverbacks attacked by leopards! The Silverbacks had injuries to their shoulders and trapezoids but were able to fight it off
Although previously little documented, the African wild dog, a predator of similar or even slightly inferior size to male baboons themselves, in Mana Pools National Park (Zimbabwe) took to chacma baboons as their main prey, comprising 44% of 118 kills. www.researchgate.net/publication/330211961_Dangerous_game_Preferential_predation_on_baboons_by_African_wild_dogs_in_Mana_Pools_National_Park_Zimbabwe Read this if you want to educate yourself on the topic
Not only that, but anteaters have an incredibly strong tail they could use as well whip to defend themselves. That’s also their main source of balance when standing on their hind legs.
You missed American bison versus Yellowstone tourists. Always on the hunt for a photo op and never suspecting a bison will launch them sky high in a split second.
The only animal on this list that surprised me is the anteater. I read the encyclopedias from "A-Z" as a preteen; I've always had an interest in the "natural world." Even so, I never realized that anteaters were dangerous enough and had such 'tudes that they don't take crap from nothing or no one and actually kill people... A lot of people would call anteaters "badasses" but that's a vulgar and worldly term: Hence instead of a 'badass,' I'll call anteaters "good donkeys," instead. Sounds a lot less vulgar than "badass," don't it?
That was an absolutely brilliant video. Many thanks. I was fascinated by the anteaters. Whales are so amazing and I can easily imagine that it is compassion that drives a humpback to defend a grey whale. On the other hand, I have encountered baboons and find them very frightening.
