For color matching, I simply put the photo under a sheet of glass so that i can touch the color basically, on top of the photo, for comparison. We used this method when painting billboards, except we used clear acetate.

The FIRST thing I riveted to, not flirting here being ±30yrs older, is the unique colors in your 👀peepers, one would think you painted them thataway, eh? Zoweee. I, uh, did spend time just studying them to figure out the multitude of facets. But don't mind me, I am a curious bloke. 🤔 A magic trick? Did "it's just a stick" become a dowel? Excellent rock lesson, it works sooo good vs painting each pebble, fluid marks & changing colors then whip out the cat whisker brush to tie it all in.... Brilliant. And you are a paint whisperer, such muscle control as if painting with your breaths. Yes, I'ma waiting, for the transparent water video. The UK isles seem to have rivers only inches deep, all over. Must sit atop a grand boulder that the waters just can't cut into easily. Would just love to walk in them. ❤👍🤠
I often have problems with details, the thin brush and / or the paint seems to drag, or to behave like a dried out marker, but if I try to make it more “runny” adding oil, it gets transparent like a velatura. What’s the kick here? Thank you ❤
I'm really trying to improve my art. What's not clear to me here is if they're is any trying ti e before moving on to the next colour, or areas in the painting. Hooevyou can help with that 🤔

You need to get the get the mix just right. You need less medium than you think. Also a good quality oil will help tremendously!
