Question of the Day: What do you do when you get a call from an unknown number? (I hope you enjoy the example phone conversation full of phrasal verbs in this lesson. If you feel like skipping the conversation and jumping to the explanation / meaning of each phrasal verb you can start @3:58. ) My answer: I don't pick up the phone. I let the call go to voicemail. If it's important then the caller will leave a message and I will get back to them later.
I will answer all calls even unknown numbers(even strange numbers from other countries), maybe it was a call from a friend that needs my help, many unknown numbers call me, they are survey or advertising companies. In the worst-case scenario and at the time that I feel too trapped in a scamming operation I hang up and make a nice cut-off into the conversation, so the scammers will not want to call me back.
When unknown number calls me The Furst thing I do puch the accept bottune and I get through him if it was someone important I let him To get therough me if was not I cut off the calling
Pick up. Call up. Get through Turn off. Turn on. Get back Make out. Speak up. Put through Break up cut off Hang up Call back. Put through. Pass on Get off Hang on Hold on
Thank you for your nice comment and question, Najmus 🤗. I am currently working on a video about tips for learning phrasal verbs which is scheduled to be posted on Feb 19th. A great tip is to work on learning phrasal verbs based on category / topic or by verb. I have put all my phrasal verb lessons into a playlist which I hope you'll find useful: ua-cam.com/play/PLktdXyVCSbc-5jOeqWjRw5ehoGc8p3vRm.html
It's nice that you give unknown numbers a chance. Usually if I don't recognize the number it is a telemarketer. The last time I picked up there was a robo-call in Chinese! There's been a lot of those lately in Toronto.
