Matt.23.9 And don't address anyone here on earth as 'Father,' for only God in heaven is your spiritual Father. (NLT)

If you’ll take the verse literally then be consistent with it by not addressing your biological dad as father too.

How do want us to take the verse?
Can you please explain what it implies?…it clearly states that “You MUST call no one on earth your father, since you have only one Father, and he is in heaven.”
      Matt 23:9

@@That_Nelson Oh, is that so? Maybe you should read the verse in the Amplified Translation:
Matt.23.9 “And do not call anyone [in the church] on earth father, for you have one Father, Who is in heaven.” (AMP).
      *IS IT CLEAR ENOUGH NOW?*

@@That_Nelson And if you read the verse I put up there carefully, you'd see the term ‘spiritual father’. Isn't that clear too? Please stop confusing yourself and face the Truth.

@@evansglobal1 how do you reconcile your position with scriptures like 1 Corinthians 4:15, and other places in scripture where the apostle Paul called Timothy and Titus his sons in the gospel/common faith?
