Abyss Lore & Easter Eggs | VALORANT New Map

- Abyss is a base belonging to the Scions of Hourglass, and it houses some massive secrets regarding radiants and radianite history as a whole. I don't normally cover the VALORANT Lore but got pretty invested in the build up to Abyss' release, and wanted to summarise how we got here, and what we've learnt since the new map went live, going over some of the lore and easter eggs on Abyss.

This pretty much confirms Yoru's suspicion over his Mask being ancient yet still having lots of *radianite* in one of his voice messages in patch 4.2

I feel like the both 8s from Alpha and Omega are in there. One on top one on bottom. Both are missing in both universes so it makes sense.

Whoever is in that chamber, they’re most likely a god level radiant like Astra, Clove or Reyna. Who have the power to take over the world alone if they play the right cards. There has to be a reason why they’re keeping it behind this much security.
lotus has a giant flower in the middle absorbing the entire map, so that could possibly be the escaped thing

There are several flowers of enormous size located in, and next to the map. Why should this particular big one be special?

i cant wait for the exposition dump soon. considering its a library with millenia of radiant history. i need exposition.
About Agent 8. Clove mentioned them when they were asking about one lcoker with scratched out number 8, but noone wanted to talk with them about it. Considering that Clove is very important to the lore, and with this Hourglass plot, maybe Riot was teasing something with this voiceline.
From all of this lore it is possible to have a movie or a tv show or an anime based on valorant in few year's.

I think the prisoner in the hourglass cell is an ‘Omen’ literally. Omen asks “how many times was I split apart?” I take this quite literally. Considering past ties and the claw looking hand in the cinematic I think he’s gonna re-fuse with this piece of himself and regain some memories. Would also make sense with the whole theme of lost history going on right now.

At the section starting around 8:47, I believe the references to "the hourglass turns" is just a reference to the passage of time, not a specific artifact turning. Like "as long as time continues to pass, we will always be there to protect the world/timeline from radianite". This explains why their symbol is an hourglass, it references their commitment to affecting history throughout the sands of time both past, present, and future. I think the hourglass in the ceiling is just a decorative piece to honor their symbol, like how a headquarters would have a statue or art piece of their logo.
Awesome job synthesizing all the lore between cinematics, voice lines, map clues, and more! More videos like this please :D
Furthermore, an hour glass sitting still will eventually run out of time, an hourglass spinning however will never stop turning "time" (sand/water) And because it will never stop pouring sand back and forth it indicates a "forever" idea

another cool theory is yoru's. he essentially joined the valorant protocol in search of his lineage. why is there an old japanese ship at icebox? could this mean that these people, who also have the same powers with yoru who can rip through dimensions and places, were stranded ashore/crashed at icebox because maybe the scions were hunting them and they're trying to run away from them? and the aftermath was, unfortunately, they got hunted by the scions hence yoru has no clue of his ancestry (scions erased all traces) + the fact that yoru's mask and the onitsuna sword is in display at abyss.

Valorant lore is sooo good I feel robbed that this is a pvp fps game so no story mode and exploration for us like typical rpg.

I feel like Sage and Omen wouldn't necessarily join team radiant, and Gekko is technically non-radiant but would side with his buddies.
I don't think that's what she's meant because she thought radiants only appeared after the first light incident and some people seems ridiculed or confine them and Reyna hates that and it turns out radiants already there before the first light and live among people how can she's not mad ? When radiants get ridiculed because they're weird and possibly dangerous when they actually exist even before first light

Oh I think I see it, the containment below A site were meant to store various radiant agents, but they decided to store agent 8 in a different, more distance cell to ensure he doesn't escape, I feel like it is agent 8 because this place stores ,,artifacts" so I feel like they'd do some wordplay here making it that agent 8 is captive there and we'll see him as a new agent in act 2 next episode most probably
Also, on top of the fact that there's 2 chambers (the one that got shot is the bottom one), and we have 2 planets being alpha and omega, meaning both alpha and omega versions of agent 8 are stored there, but the reason the top one isn't moving is because the chamber hasn't been shot yet for the agent to move loosely

i think the thing in the hourglass cell is a omen ghost it looks the same with the hanging neck and the fact that the hand in the cinematic looks like omens hand so this could be a alternate omen

What if agent 8 was a double agent for the scions but was betrayed by them as they found no more use for them which means if the valorant protocol were to save them from that special containment they might return to the valorant protocol with obvious distrust

Ok so for the other containment cell 31 I think it could be the HUGE container we saw in the sunset cinematic. It’s about 30 seconds in when we see it being pulled from the portal
i love how abyss makes skins canon, you can see them as artifacts on some of the walls, especially the melees. you can even see them in the cinematic!
