Don’t get me wrong, I can still rock out with all of my favorite bands, but NOW I have a new appreciation for the hardest & most beautiful vocals EVER!!! ❤️
Laura Bretan is outstanding....incredible and tremendous talent.......if only my mother was here to hear this young girl..... she would be blown away...... my mother was an opera lover like me...... I learned a lot from her......Laura is unbelivable......God bless her and her great gift from God.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joel, I just watched this incredible performance by Laura, then I just listen to the same song from 3 years later at Domingo jr concert. Let me tell you, she’s beyond amazing! Laura is moving in a different direction that no one has seen before. Imagine in 1,2 or 5 years from now. WOW!
I have heard all the great sopranos from Amelita Galli-Curci in the early 1900's to Maria Callas in modern times, and Laura Bretan is not just "almost as good" as the best of these - she's better! I think she will become the voice of our generation!
Coming from an operatic family, I have heard many terrific voices and areas, but I must say that Laura being so young outshines them all. She knows her voice and how to use it. Let her be herself, please don’t try to change anything. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!
I disagree. Their voices are quite different and depending on your personal likes or dislikes, one voice is perhaps more suited to particular songs than the other. For my taste, the clear tone full voice of Jackie thrills me far more than Laura's heavy vibrato operatic voice. Jackie has power along with her pure tones. Laura has power with full body operatic vibrato. I can listen to Jackie pretty much all day but I would get tired of Laura after a short while. That is my opinion, my taste in music tone quality, etc.
I agree...much more powerful, equally melodic, but Laura can sing in multiple genres. Jackie is good, but, arguably, does not hold a candle to this young woman.
Rex Cluff Laura's voice is incredible but often when she sings an operatic aria her vibrato is over done and out of control. More is not better. listen to professional opera singers to hear correct usage. I am sure with correct professional training and correct breath control she can become one of the future greats. Its not unusual for young potential opera singer to employ too much power, too much vibtato, and too little breath control. You really hear the quality of her voice better in her non operatic performances. She has it all she just needs more seasoning that will come with age and better training. really one to watch.
Stuart Schwartz I wish everyone would stop calling Jackie an opera singer. She's not. She never claimed to be and will tell you herself she isn't and never wanted to be. She loves what she is doing and is extremely successful. These continued references to Jackie as an opera singer by people trying to defend or especially attack her as a poorer opera singer as compared to Laura, Amira or Sterre or any other young talent is more a reflection of the character of the commenter than the talented young performers ability. We all should just stop it, and enjoy these incredible youngsters. No one and I mean no one knows where this young super talents will end up. 10 to 15 more years of very intensive and difficult training lay ahead before the become opera singers as opposed to singers of some arias. Pavrotte himself said drive desire and intense focus are as important if not more important than talent.To keep that level of effort for so many years leads many "talents " to drop out of opera which is by the way a very limited, highly competitive musical genre. So watch listen and enjoy all these delightful young talents and cheer on and encourage all of them their road will be difficult enough without a lot of untalented adults sniping at them because another adult says something negative about their singer or say they prefer another singer over the one the feel obligated to defend. Opinions when dealing with vulnerable children should always be offered very carefully if at all. I am not excluding myself from my own comments. I have often found myself kicking my own behind over things I have commented. I am just trying very hard to guard against letting it happen. Thanks, sorry for preaching at everyone but I've seen how damaging this can be to child talents.
Another jelous! To keep such long hight note in the end of "Nessun Dorma" aria,this means to have a fanatastic vocal control and tehnique!!! It was an example! Than,a native talent involves also to feel the tehnique..and find that she has a belcanto teacher,Nicoleta Roman. And OMG, she sings with such great passion...others,hm... sing very corect,academic,but there is a great lack of emotion! This is the reason for which she is really formidable and so much loved!
Maria Callas was pushed beyond breaking point during her teen years - and hated her mother forever after. Laura must NOT be pushed and abuse her voice. If she is not protected and trained properly she will lose her voice sooner than later. This will be an incalculable tragedy - for her and a great loss to the world.
The recording and audio here is very, very bad. It would be quite unfair to judge Laura listening to this crappy recording! The 'OMBC' is very distorted, not by Laura, but by the crappy audio.
