That was a awesome tutorial. I recently got duped and received a latex Mandalorian mask that came in an 8" x 8" envelope when they advertised it as PVC. I have no experience with this so I used a hair dryer and fixed the worst of it. Thanks to your tutorial I will be able to fine tune the repair process and make the mask look great. Thanks!
Absolutely a video worth watching. Thank you Edit; I keep the nylon hoserie piece on the manikin head for display under the mask. Mine is a bit thicker of latex/rubber, it started to loose its form and was close to cracking. I panicked a bit, filled the sink with hot water and dish soap...brought it back nicely.
Nice video, this is a must watch, most people don't understand these costumes are typically made overseas and don't get shipped on a protective manikin head. 👍
thank you so much for this ive been wanting to get a 89 mask but the only ones i can get are the cheap ebay ones and i was always worried about how it would look when i got but now i know i can fix the shape
Thank you for this video. I just purchased my first latex mask and it looks like a dump truck ran over it. At least I know now why that is and how to fix it so it will look like it did on the site.
Awesome video!! I recently purchased a 2018 Michael Myers mask and it is very snug on my big head and nose. Trying to over stuff it to stretch it as much as I can but am thinking of trying just a little heat. It’s not unbearably right, just need a little bit more room. Maybe a haircut will do the trick. That or a nose job.
You made a $30.00 batman mask into a $130.00 mask. Great video sir.
Thanks. I'm really glad this video has been helping people get their inexpensive masks turned into something they can truly enjoy and be proud of.
@@retiredbatdad2135 3 years later, still helps.
Damn. 8 YEARS AGO...and this video is only now getting the love it deserves.
for real right!?

OMg. I have had this same cowl for years and the ears are just a mess. I am definitely going to do this to my cowl. Thank you so much for this video!

Good choice for the cowl. Michael Keaton is my favorite Batman.
Cool video! This may be useful in restoring my own '89 cowl. Oh, and congrats on retirement. Hope you enjoy it!
Such a great video. I have three of these Keaton cowls (3180) and am going to try this. Thanks for sharing!

Retired BatDad, this is a great, fun tutorial. I wanted to ask if you have ever used Plastidip on the mask and if you'd ever consider it?
