You have and always be in my thoughts and prayers sweetie. Stay strong. Love you dearly my friend ❤ ⚘⚘⚘
@rxmiller0112 I think why ABBA group was so popular in the pass, because they sang in english, why they was unpopular thereafter, because they had not moved to the U.S If you became famous in U.S. its mean famous arount the world.
JIM H. ABBA had traveled to the US several times, the last being to accept the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame award in New York (Frida and Benny represented ABBA for the event). Frida's daughter was married to an American and she was tragically killed in an auto accident near Albany, New York. ABBA had appeared on almost all the major American television shows of the day, including Dick Clark's American Bandstand, NBC's Midnight Special, the Dick Cavett Show, the Dinah Shore Show and many other programs in the US. They did concerts in California, Texas, the midwest and the east. Although they had a contingency of hardcore fans, they we're disappointed that a number of their concerts were only partially attended. America was in the disco era. That and lax promotion probably had considerable affect on their US popularity. But none of the members liked extensive traveling, particularly Agnetha, who had a great fear of flying which was exacerbated when a plane in which they were flying encountered trouble near New York. This probably curtailed their visits to the US. While they were immensely popular throughout Europe and Asia, (almost as revered as the Beatles), they had a difficult time making the charts in America--until DANCING QUEEN, which shot up to number one. After that, they were a truly international success.
