Thank you so much for this video, I was on the market for a new bbq grill and never owned a pellet grill and I didn't want to break the bank after looking at your video 1 hr later I had it in my house getting assembled, so far I've cooked hamburgers ,sausages, pork butts and everything tastes amazing!
So far I have not made anything on this grill that has not been fantastic. I've made burgers, pork ribs, pork shoulder, chicken fajitas, pork steaks, and beef steaks. My favorite thing to cook on this grill is thick rib eyes at 500 degrees using a blend of charcoal and hickory pellets. I cook them about 8 minutes total on each side (turning them about 45 degrees after 4 minutes to create the crisscross grill pattern) and let them rest for about 10 minutes covered before eating them. They come out perfect every time to about medium rare. Make sure you cook on the right side directly over the fire pot (with the fire pot cover in place along with the drip tray) as it is by far the hottest side of the grill necessary for the charring. They are by far the juiciest steaks that I have ever eaten in my life.
My local Walmart had this thing for 50% off today, I was able to pick it up for a bit over 220 bucks. Thanks for the review, excited to give this thing a try
That’s an amazing deal
Just bought one yesterday for 199
@@zachgoodnite We just picked one up for 199 as well. Couldn't pass it up at that price.
I looked at this before when my local WalMart had it for $300. Today when I went by it was $150, so I grabbed one. I have a Camp Chef 24" that will remain my main smoker and grill, but the ability to use charcoal and briquettes make this well worth it even if I only use it once a month. It'll also be great for when I need to do large cooks, or multiple items.
I just picked one up for 250.
Looks like a nice cooker for any backyard bbq enthusiast!! Thanks for sharing!
I love the grill for all the myriad of bullet points it has and I've done 4 different major cooks. My only criticisms are that it doesn't go under 200 degrees and have a smoke level adjustment. Added a 70 in Cuisinart cover, Cuisinart rib rack, and a smoking tube for extra smoky flavor. I'm very happy and impressed with all this grill offers for the price compared to Pit Boss, Camp Chef and Traeger l even though it was a tough decision.
This is my first Cuisinart Wood Creek pellet 4 - 1 pellet grill.
Wal-Mart had the display model on clearance for $249, It was already assembled with all accessories I bought it on impulse and rented a truck for $19. Can't shake a stick at that.
I just picked this grill up from my local Walmart for $200 on clearance 🥳
Great info. just bought one today, Walmart has them on clearance for $199 YES i said $199. My brother and i planned on spending $1000 on 2. It was like $437 out the door for 2
Nice review seen this at Walmart and initially turned my nose at it. As a Chef I should have realized this would be good because of the name. Cuisinart makes very good products but didn’t realize they made grills. I’m definitely going to pay more attention to this now.
And it’s hard to beat the price!
I only paid $440 for mine at Walmart!
I did have to replace my ignitor already. Quick trip to Ace Hardware and I had a new Traeger hot stick for $35, fit right in, grill works great again.
Kudos buddy. DoIng this review in the middle of a sleet storm.
Just got one for free guy said it stopped working.... turns out his pellets got wet and clogged the auger. I cleared it out and it runs, I haven't used it yet but will this weekend
Amazing. Love to hear stories of people turning other people’s trash into treasure.
Lucky. I got mine for 150 today
Just got this today. Love it so far.
I just got mines today as well. Im excited
I love my Woodcreek, but unfortunately mine came with a problem where the hot rod would stay on constantly even when it wasn't turned on. I emailed them, and they determined it needed a new board. After giving them the info they wanted (serial number and date of purchase), they sent out the new part immediately. So glad I did not have to pack that thing up and return it. About 10 minutes of work and it was up and going again with the problem fixed. Great customer service. I wish dealing with all companies was that easy. BTW, anyone looking for a replacement hot rod, the Traeger hot rod fits perfect, plugs right in, and comes with a fuse. My hot rod wore out from being on for a few days before I noticed that it never turned off. The only one available locally was a Traeger hot rod which I took a chance on, and it was identical to the Cuisinart except that the shrink tubing on the wiring was a different color, even the fuse was the same type.
Can you send me the email please? Mine won't work at all after one cook! Thank you in advance!
Bought one yesterday based on this video. Got it for $300 in Texas.
$497 right now!!! Im going to get this or pitboss Austin xl. But this bluetooth nonsense. Wifi!!!!!!! This guys definitely deserves 1m views!!!! Him standing out there doing this for us is gangsta
Haha. Thanks TK. Just finished up two briskets on this guy and was super pleased with the outcome. Let me know if you have any questions on the grill
@@BBQandBottles hey yea do you really get a smoked flavor on pellet grills? I've used charcoal and wood for years, I just love the set it and forget it on these smokers. Last year my wife got me a off set smoker, a budget friendly 🙄 smoker. I dam nere burned up every thing, I used that smoker once, just a Poor design and cheaply made!!! She's not gonna be happy about me buying a new grill, especially near $600 but hey its almost fathers day🤣
Great video
Would you get this over pit boss 1100 or 1600?
Review the Cuisinart BRISTOL PELLET GRILL please I'm considering buying one this month!
Cuisinart has a new “Bristol” model smoker. Seems at first glance to be a small version of this Woodcreek. If you can get your hand on one would love to see a comparison.
I've only had my camp chef for about a year but really want to buy one of these...looks great
Just do a little trade in.
There even chapter right now. Walmart has them for $497 right now I think
Thank you for braving the elements (blizzard?) for your review! Now, please get a 70inch cover, a canopy and a patio heater and I will feel much better watching your videos lmao. Cheers!
Haha 👊👊
Charles Mallory I haven’t seen snow like that in years I loved it.
Nearly 5,000 views in 5 weeks. WOW! This must be a popular grill.
Like most of the Cuisinart products, it’s just really good value. It’s normally $600 and Walmart just rolled the price back $100 so now you can pick it up for under $500.
@@BBQandBottles Got Mine For 279, Half Price @ Walmart...
I just returned my charGrill 980 and purchased the Cuisinart 4 in 1. I have only done a couple of short cooks so the verdict is not 100% this being said i just did a 3 hour cook of a full pork loin.
I started out by cutting the loin into 2 halves and smoking for 3 hrs at the 200 degree setting. One thing i learned is that if you start the cook with the temperature over your set point it seems to hold that higher temperature, after i opened the top to get the temp down to 200 it seemed to hold that temp with in 5 or 6 degrees. The issue i have on my previous grill was the temperatures would not hold steady and a 200 degrees cook climbed to over 400!!
Once the loin reached 135 i pulled it let if rest until 20 minutes before the desired dinning time and placed the searing insert in and let it get up to temp, out standing !! I placed the 1" plus chops on the searing grill for 2 to 3 mins per side and sauced watching the internal temperature pulling them at 145 so good!!.
I did have a issue with the temperature probes reading 10 or more degrees different , Cuisinart is sending me new ones.
I'll let you know how the long cooks go for pork butts or briskets... so far I give this a 8.5 i would like more smoke flavor , this may come with learning the unit, also the blue tooth sucks! needs updated to wifi!!
Great review. Just subscribed for some recipes. Your BBQ looks top notch. 👌🏻
Exceptional review!!! The dude is badass, cold wind and snow blowing past him and he doesn't even change an octive LOL. Seriously tho, I am in the market for a pellet grill and this video came across my feed. I was considering a Yoder, but now I am curious about this Cuisinart no doubt. Especially the price! Liked and subbed man.
Yeah, you’re not going to find a pellet grill that’s better value than this one. Yoder’s are great grills too, just really expensive so I’m sure they’ll have some features that the Cuisinart doesn’t.
I was sold! but I live in Florida and feel that this will be an issue for me in case there is no power after a hurricane hits. I think that was the tipping point for me. Yes I have a generator and what not but I think I am going to have to go with a combo gas/pellet grill. I really was looking forward to this purchase.
@Daniel - Maybe check out the Cuisinart Twin Oaks then. It's a combo pellet grill on one side and gas/propane on the other.
Excellent
good review mate, well done
Thanks Ben
I just picked one of these up from my local Walmart on sale for- 199.00
Also one more point on addition to not going down to 180 or having a smoke adjustment is that it doesn't do 25 degree increments after 300. So you can't set 325, 375, 425 or 475 at all.
I’ll have to check on my next cook but you might be able to do that from the app
I got this for 200 bucks at Walmart. Mis marked! I felt like I won the day with this buy
Nice review guys! Looking at the Camp Chef with the "sidekick" insert, but it's so expensive! Curious more about cleaning - you mention the ease to dispose of ash - what about grease drippings? For example, the new Weber is having issues of grease fires. How does this grill do for grease runoff? Thanks for any advice and keep up the good work!
The grease just runs down a spout into a tray underneath. There really isn't a lot of ash after each cook. Its a good practice to clean the grill plates regularly.
how do you keep yours at 225 mine couldn't do it at 25 degrees the most i saw it got up to it 189
Im trying to understand why it took y'all 3 hrs to assemble this grill? I've had 7 back surgeries and I was able to put this cuisinart 4 and 1 Pellet Grill put together in just about 90 and I had to take a break cause I was just shy of 4 weeks of surgery #7. My wife she read out the instructions as I assembled it. The hood is a rather large semi heavy piece and my neighbor came over and he and my wife put it on top of grill cause I physical was useless to help with that. He just was wow I can't wait to use that beautiful beast of a grill. I can say an 18-21lbs low and slow brisket looks and tastes absolutely amazing. I was going to buy the pitboss platinum pellet grill with smoker cabinet above but it was hard to locate in my area so I tried the cuisinart pellet grill and I'm very pleased with it, out the door less then $700 with tax. The pitboss was almost $120 more according to my cousin down in Forney, TX and he said the temp has to be really 400-450° high in order to get a 225° temp in upper smoking cabinets so I didn't like that cause I live in snow and -30° and that would burn though a 40lbs of pellets when I'm smoking year round. I agree with this video except the build time was a bit excessive they must have been drinking 😉😂😂
Glad to hear it only took you 90 minutes. As you might have noticed from the video we assembled this guy in the middle of winter. It was -40° when we assembled it and I wasn't wearing gloves in order to be able to maintain dexterity. I didn't think it slowed me down that much, but clearly it did if this only took you 90 minutes. Glad you're enjoying it.
On the second use, the auger would not stop pushing pellets into the burner, has anyone experienced this before?
Love the idea of the charcoal because this is everything I want in a grill smoker, it’s like having my cane and eat it too, but what would you say if I was only grilling two steaks, and also on a separate cook boneless skinless chicken thighs, I’m gonna be heating up alot of space for just two steaks. Again love the idea of the charcoal!!! I wish it just had separate burners for the ceramic briquettes.. I’ve seen pit boss 1100 combo gas/smoke.. but it don’t have the charcoal... ugh.. choices I tell you.
Just speaking from my experience here but I haven’t notices a massively different pull on pellets between this and my smaller pellet grill from Trager. It’s more, but not that much more than you think.
I just made smoked and char-grilled steaks and potatoes on the Cuisinart Woodcreek. Smoke tube in there for good measure. I steak-rubbed then smoked the steaks at 225 until they reached 120 internally. Meanwhile, I nuked whole potatoes (I usually boil in water and red vinegar, slightly smash, then coat in Olive oil and salt) until tender. Once the steak was at 120, I prepared my charcoal in the Woodcreek until it was over 700. Smoke tube next to it. Got great grill marks and crust on my steaks and my potatoes. The char flavor combine with the smoke was over-the-top good. Clean up was a cinch. You can get the charcoal taste onto ribs too this way. The Pitboss flame broiler doesn't excite me anymore.
@@TheModeRed Nice review by BBQ and Bottles! Your video (and price point) encouraged me to decide on this grill. Also...thank you Charles for your input. I just purchased the grill and can't wait to put it together and start grilling this weekend. I'm new to pellet grilling and it's my first wood pellet grill. I like your instructions on how you did your steak but want to clarify the process. I imagine it would take at least 10-15 minutes to get the temp to 700 with the charcoals. While waiting to get to that temp, did you take your steaks off the grill completely or did you leave it on the grill? Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, but I've never smoked and char-grilled a steak and I want to replicate your "over-the-top good" results. Thanks.
@@ozzief9043 You will love your Woodcreek. Main grate surface area and vertical space alone make it amazing. You can find racks on Amazon that when doubled up give you 1.5x the space, and are 4 to 5 inches high, no problem. To cook the steaks, I cooked to 120-125, then tented them on the side table. Get your grill smoking red hot (with lid open so the O2 gets it there faster). Put your steak on and sear till you have crust and cross hatch grill marks on both sides that you like, basting as you go. It should come out rare to medium rare, depending on how charred you like the crust. If you like it more on the medium side, smoke the steak to 130 or 135 before searing. Resting 15 minutes before searing is actually the preferred method and gives you plenty of time to get your preloaded charcoal tray and grates up to temp. Cheers!
My local Walmart has this for $200 right now. I currently have a Pitboss 820D (2019 model), do you think this is an upgrade from the Pitboss? Mine doesn't have bluetooth controls built in or anything.
Great review! I'm really torn between this & the camp chef woodwind sg24. I really like that the cuisinart has the ability to use charcoal, has the viewing window & has lights on the inside. Upsides of the camp chef is wifi, ability to control smoke intensity through the app & the slide to sear plate. Also camp chef customer service seems to be great from what I hear on Facebook groups. Not sure about cuisinart, although they do have a much bigger presence in the culinary world. I guess it comes down to how good the PID controller is in each of them, heard great things from camp chef but not much about cuisinart. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Personally, I'd go with the Cuisinart for a couple of reasons:
- The ability to use charcoal as you flagged which is a real plus when you're trying to reverse sear steaks.
- It's $300 cheaper ($599 vs. $899)
- Most importantly all of the grilling space is on a single rack making it more usable. Grilling space on pellet grills is pretty misleading when you start talking about multiple racks/levels. I say that because often times when you're using multiple levels the lower level can only accommodate thin proteins like ribs or salmon. The Cuisinart let's you have all of that space on a single level. This is really big difference that I don't think people value right.
The only things that entice me about the Woodwind SG24 would be:
- Ability to start smoking as low as 160F vs. 200F on the Cuisinart. I like smoking fish at really low temps.
- The smoke level adjustment that you point out.
So personally I think it's an easy decision to go with the Cuisinart, but that's just my view.
Camp chef Is the best. Customer service is too notch!
They have it at my Walmart for $150 clearance. Should I pick it up?
The Walmart by me has one for $300 pre-built. I'm seriously debating picking it up thank you for the review.
You should absolutely hit that bid! Pre-assembled saves you 2 hours as well!
$373 at Walmart here. But I'm from Arkansas, we are serious about bbq here; my main concern is this smoke flavor.
What is the length and width on the primary grill cooking surface area? Thanks !
Is it good
I thought Camp Chef had a patent on the fire pot sliding trap door.
Does it heat up quickly or does it take a while ? For example, how long does it take to get up to 400 to 500 degrees ? Thanks in advance.
Heats up pretty quickly. It would take 15-20 minutes to get to 400F
@Brian Conner We just did a cook today and it’s 20F outside. It too is 13.5 minutes to get up to 350F
So I have to use either charcoal or wood pellets to produce heat?
In addition to a list of features it would be helpful if you would post functionality information based on your months of use: Temperature Fluctuation, Temperature Variance (across the cooking surface), Pellet Consumption (at various temps), Grease Management, Cleaning Requirements and Ease/Difficulty, Bluetooth Range, Noise Levels, Ash Dispersal (inside and outside), etc. Thanks.
Great ideas for more videos on this grill.
Great video btw! I've been waiting on reviews but haven't seen too many talking about this grill. Although the lack of smoke taste is disappointing.
If you want to really up the smokiness I think your other comment is right... consider using a bit of charcoal alongside the pellets. When we dropped the charcoal in, there was a ton of smoke in the cooking chamber.
@@BBQandBottles I am glad to hear you can combo the charcoal and pellets on a slow cook for flavor. On my Woodcreek I've had great success with a smoke tube full of my favorite pellets. Clean-up has been a breeze as well. The glass too.
@@BBQandBottles wow, so you can add a little charcoal to the insert while doing low n' slow?
@@TheModeRed Now that you're 2 months since last comment - what's you assessment now? Also, any chance you could give me a measure of the outer dimensions of the lid? Looking to see if a Ravenna 70" cover will fit reasonably well compared to the Cuisinart since the Cuisinart cover has some mixed reviews on durability. Thanks for any input, as I am pulling the trigger soon!
What are the dimensions of the lid? I am looking at getting a better cover such as the Ravenna 70" or the Hickory 70", both by Classic Accessories and want to know of the "dome" of each cover will match up reasonably with the lid. Thanks!
How does this compare to the gmg Daniel boon or the camp chef pro dlx? I’m trying to choose between these 3 and I have never had a pellet grill always used charcoal.
Any issues? Please be honest. I love the build of this, but the controls are garbage. So frustrating.
Do you still recommend this grill?
How did you make your grill stay steady? Mine likes to fall apart at the screws attaching the frame to the grilling box.
are you saying you need coals to get sear temps
No, the grill itself will go up to 500F on pellets alone.
Any thoughts on the Woodcreek vs the Camp Chef Woodwind Wifi with Sidekick? I was initially all set on the Camp Chef, but after seeing this and the tremendous savings - it's made me reconsider. However despite lots of searches, unable to find a good comparison. Specifically wondering about Bluetooth vs Wifi and build quality comparison. Any opinions for consideration are welcome.
I don’t have a Camp Chef so I can’t comment on that, but the Woodcreek is currently $500 so it’s almost half the price of the Woodwind.
How do you use yours in the snowy weather? Do you get water in the pellet hopper?
No, there’s a lid on the pellet hopper. We also put a cover over the grill when we’re done using it to protect it from the snow.
I just got this grill last Tuesday for $250. Walmart made a mistake on their app 🙌
Amazing!
I noticed that the grill comes with a ceramic briquette tray. How is it intended to be used?
You just put it over top of the firebox so it gets good and hot. That way when you’re searing steaks over it and fat renders down onto the briquettes they vaporize and add an amazing flavor to your cooks.
Is there any way to use it without pellets?
Yep, if you want to just use the charcoal basket you can do that... but it’s definitely designed for pellets to be the primary fuel source.
Just bought one for $199 at Walmart on clearance
Have you had a auger jam or motor go bad? Which pellet grill is the easiest to clear an auger jam? Thanks
I haven’t had that issue Gordon. But for that reason, I’d recommend getting a cover for these grills. Sometimes if moisture gets into your pellets, it can create a jam
What is the cooking surface dimensions in inches? I can’t find that information anywhere
@Shane King The dimensions of the main area are 36” x 18” and the upper area is 34.25” x 6.25”. Let me know if you have any questions!
BBQ and Bottles thank you for your response, I’m adding this pit to my collection
Great grill and I love the window and lights that allow you to see what you are cooking without lifting the lid. However... cleaning these items is a BEAR and will quickly become useless if they are not routinely cleaned. And its just not spraying, you need elbow greas
How would compare this grill to the PB 820 Pro? Especially from a smoking standpoint. I am looking to purchase a new grill/smoker and was just told about this one. There are some really great features, but still not sure which way to go.
Well, I don’t have a PitBoss 820 but from what I can read online the PB820 has a smaller pellet hopper, you can only use one fuel, it doesn’t have a Bluetooth connection to monitor your temps remotely and it doesn’t have the griddle accessory. Feels like the Cuisinart is the more obvious choice to me given they’re basically the same price point.
📝
Do you think you would be able to offset low and slow smoke with the charcoal along with the pellets?
100% but then you probably won’t be able to cook over the charcoal itself which takes up about a third of the grill. I’m actually going to try this for next brisket to see how it turns out.
Cool let us know how it turns out. I was just concerned about heat control with the top being down and the charcoal burning. I was thinking about installing a damper on the side of the grill. I don't have this grill yet however I am seriously considering it. I have a camp chef pro dlx with sear box but I installed a smoke daddy on the side for extra smoke. I love the wood fire taste, but I also like the taste of charcoal on my food.
@@jessehurston9054 I have this grill and wasn't impressed with the smoke taste. Non existent. Maybe it was the pit boss pellets I used. I plan to install a smoke daddy on this Woodcreek
Would you be able to or couldn’t you use the charcoal basket and put wood chips or pellets in there to offset the smoke flavoring?
You could definitely add wood chips in there but I wouldn’t recommend. If you put a pile of pellets in there I think you’d run the risk of a fire.
So i am guessing it has an igniter to light up the pellets right?
Yeah, the fire pit has the igniter rod.
@@BBQandBottles If using charcoal with pellets, do you need to ignite the charcoal externally, then add to the charcoal tray, or can charcoal be ignited inside the grill tray by the heat from the pellets?
Do you do most of your cooking on summit gas grill or the cuisinart 4 in 1 pellet?
I’d say it’s about even to be honest Gordon. The gas grill for shorter cooks and the pellet smoker for the longer, low and slow smokes.
Take a look at RECTEC RT700
Joe, that grill is US$1,200 on their website which is twice the price of the Woodcreek.
BBQ and Bottles correct.. it’s worth researching. I own one, and have also owned Traeger. Super happy with RECTEC, and it gets up to 600 degrees. It’s OK to be armed with options.
@@screamingchowman but from everything I've read on the Rectec FB page is it doesn't produce the greatest smoke either. Most ppl have to use the smoker tube in addition. That very disappointing for a $1200 smoker
Matt Wright it produces a ton of smoke, there is a extreme smoke setting (it’s 180 degrees) but the sweet spot is 180-225 if you want a ton of smoke. There might be a misperception that billows of white smoke is good for cooking, you want to run a light blue smoke for clean cooking which these do at the proper temp.
Also have a RecTec and if you watched this video they don't come close in the extras that the Cuisinart has! Window, pellet window, ash dump, cast iron and charcoal drop ins. What is your reasoning for looking at the rectec?
We just bought this grill for 240 Walmart had it listed in the store for 497 and online for 240.
That’s an awesome bargain. What going to be your first cook? A brisket?
@@BBQandBottles well we're going to grill this evening then I might smoke either a brisket or some ribs
Would you go with this or the Traeger Pro 575? I’m leaning more toward this as I want to cook hot dogs and hamburgers more like a regular (propane or charcoal) grill. But people say I can do that on the traeger? My husband is leaning more toward the Traeger. Would I be disappointed with the Traeger the first time I cooked a hot dog on it?
We have the Traeger Pro 34 and the Timberline 850 and you can't sear or char hot dogs or burgers on there. They're both great grills and you could crank out some incredible smoked burgers and sausage, but you're not going to get the flame kissed charring like you can with the Woodcreek.
BBQ and Bottles thanks for the quick reply!
CAMP CHEF. Sold my Treager and NOT sorry I did so.
Would this grill go low enough to make sausage?
It’s lowest setting is 200F
Just got this. Do they make grease pan liners that fit it?
No, we just cover ours in aluminum foil
Love this review. Now I'm torn this or Lockhart 😭😭
Isn’t the Lockhart $750?
@@BBQandBottles yes it is unfortunately. I love that I can smoke in top and cook in the bottom. Just watched some other videos I have a Char griller, a classic weber and (leaning towards cuisinart) ........... Do you have more videos on this model? There don't seem to be many
Our recent brisket experiments series is all on the Woodcreek. Otherwise, I have a few YT videos in the hopper to be posted in the coming months. In the meantime, on Instagram, we have four cooks in our Story “Highlights” you can check out. We did Beef Ribs, Prime Rib, Chickens and Smoked Salmon. In my view this is the best value pellet grill on the market.
@@BBQandBottles okay awesome I'll be following you in a minute and getting to know your channels❤️ thanks for replies
Any idea where to find this model in Canada? I only see the Bristol model available. Thanks
I don’t think it’s available here yet.
@@BBQandBottles someone has connections I see ... keep up the great work!
Just found this at Wal-Mart for $150 on clearance. Check around.
Just picked mine up for $200
Have a couple of observations, and a couple of questions about the Cuisinart Woodcreek 4-in-one.
I currently have an old Traeger Lil-Texas.
One of the features not mentioned is that the exterior seems to be stainless. If you have ever experienced trying to clean a Traeger with that rough surface you would understand. It is impossible to make it look good after a couple of uses.
You had the comment about the Cuisinart not having the “exhaust pipe”. The firepot, at least on a Traeger, is dead smack in the middle. So at most the smoke would go from the middle to the end. A Traeger is really a convection oven. A fan blows the smoke all around. Also, the Traeger does not have a good seal around the lid, so smoke comes out everywhere.
If you also have noticed, the new, expensive, Traeger Iornwood has no smoke stack, and is about $1200 for the cheapest with 650 grilling surface. They claim special venting, but who knows.
Now questions
I noticed that it appears all of the temperatures set by the dial had a fixed number. Traeger has a setting called smoke. It just augers the pellets in on a fixed pattern. It does not check the internal temperature to activate the auger. Instead it has a P factor. The factory preset for the smoke on my Lil-Texas is P2. I have reset it to P4. At that setting, the auger waits longer between cycles. That tends to cool the smoker. I have noticed that the lower the temp, the better the smoke. (I live in the bay area of San Francisco, no snow)
Does the Cuisinart have something like this, or is it always checking the internal temp and auguring pellets in to keep the temp stable?
Lyle, thanks for the thoughtful comment! The Cuisinart Woodcreek doesn’t have a smoke setting like the Traegers. It’s first setting is 200F so it’s always operating on a setting where it’s trying to maintain a specific temp.
Sold my Treager to get a Camp Chef. So happy I did.
Are you still using this grill, and did you come across and problems with it?
Still using it and the cons I flagged in the video are still accurate.
@@BBQandBottles I got one on clearance luckily. $357. I am loving it so far. Thanks for the videos! Please keep it up
Good stuff. You’re gonna love it. Just did ribs and a pork butt on mine earlier this week.
@@richardung1840 how's the smoke flavor? That's my biggest concern.
@@keithfogle3492 smoke flavor is there. Definitely can get a heavy smoke ring on the meats, but I like to use an additional accessory for extra smoke. Like this pellet chamber I place on the grill
I'm sure you can afford a generator if you ever decide to take this thing camping LOL!
Actually I have a Goal Zero battery that I can run this on for more than 14 hours on a single charge.
I just got this grill for $150 at Walmart….
Just got this on clearance for $200 even new in the 📦
Wow - that’s a steal!
200!? It's 373 here. Which is still good.
Been looking for another one for a friend with no luck.
Only issue with this grill is that Cuisinart gives only 3 years of limited warranty which is super short compared to other big brands 10-15 years of limited warranties. I was going to pull the trigger then changed my mind after I read that sadly.
You forgot to mention another con. The Bluetooth is horrible. If I am very close it works. Ten feet away I side house the only thing between me and the grill and the connection drops constantly. After that you have to search for device and re pair. I have headsets you don't have to re pair! It's still a great grill but they should fire the tech company they got the bluetooth from!
Hum... interesting. I haven’t had that problem with mine. Wonder if you have a defective unit.
@@BBQandBottles the facebook group "cuisinart woodcreek grilling and smoking group is full of folks with these "defective units". You must be one of the lucky ones.
Ugh... sorry to hear that Don.
Mine reaches about 10 feet at best. WiFi probes are the solution.
Just bought this for $247 today
Amazing. That’s good value
And now it sells for $200.
I bought for the name and bells and whistles and got duped. Auger and sensors dont work right had 2 fires now im afraid to use it the plates rusted in 2 months and i already had to replace a part the first month and the company wont refund only send parts that dont fix the problem. Bluetoothuseless Basically nothing works right even thermometers dont.
Agreed. They finally sent me a new hot rod and then new circuit board after about six weeks of email conversations with them. It then worked great for about a year, though now the Low Pellet alarm goes off continuously. I unplugged the cable for it to stop the beeping for now. I hope they send you a new board!
I detect a Canadian accent!
Is there a grease drip tray on this?
yes
I just got one at Walmart on clearance !!!!
How much?
@@Blackhawk556. $399
How's the smoke flavor?
@@keithfogle3492 Really good. I use the traeger pellets from Costco and everything is very consistent, never too smokey
Dude stop saying proteins.
Complete garbage do not waste your money not even worth 200
A bit of a flame up at 08:32. Did you have briquettes or using ceramic on that side
