I’ve played Series 3 (gold plated) neck on both my Reference saxes (54 alto and 36 tenor). Great combos, and far better than the originals. The Series 3 neck there really opened that Series 2 up. Good sound advice there from a master. 🙏
I don't think the Supreme neck on Ref improved the sound. Kind of restricted the freedom of the Ref neck on Ref body sound. Supreme neck on Series II body improved the sound a bit but the Series III neck on Series II body is just 'wow', what a significant sound improvement. I like my complete Ref neck/body combo. Not looking to sell mine or buy Supreme or try Supreme neck. Just me.
We have them in stock. Just order one up on our website. www.kesslerandsons.com/product/selmer-paris-supreme-alto-sax-neck/ - you get a 3 day trial period once receiving it to test it out. If you are not fully satisfied with it, simply send it back for a refund (less shipping fees).
The Series III sax vs a Series II with a III neck - the full Serie III will have a brighter tone that responds quicker. The Serie II with the III neck will give much of the projection and focus of the III (due to the neck) but will keep a darker tone overall due to the heavier body. Personal preference, but most of our customers end up liking the flexibility of the II since you can use either the II neck (for a darker, mellower tone) or the III neck for the quicker response and projection while not going brighter on tone.

Interesting video .
The Series 3 neck on the series 2 was really happening!!!
Agreed. This has always been one of our top selling combinations when customers test out in store.
Yes! I agree.
Neck is the business end of the saxophone. That’s why this combo works amazingly well.

Sounds awesome 🎷
Was he playing on the Series II Jubilee? If not, would you get a similar effect with a Series III neck on a Series II Jubilee?
Great video!! Thanks!
Wld be interested on your views and test of Selmur series III n perhaps with Supreme neck.
Unfortunately we did not have the Series III in stock at the time to be able to do that comparison (we had just sold our last one).
Would the III neck on the reference make as big a change (improvement to my ears) as it did on the II?
Unfortunately no. The III neck and the Reference neck are much closer to each other in design/weight than the II neck is.
I'd like to try the Supreme neck on my Reference.

Try a Series 3… I play the GP Series 3 neck on my Ref 54. It’s a massive difference!
I will be keen to know the difference between Series 3 vs series 2 with series 3 neck esp for jazz n non Classical playing.
