    I own one of these and it is my favorite. I've hunted more than 27 years for deer. I've used and bought a lot of gear. For me, all in all, this is the most effective stand for deer hunting. I use mine as a platform for my saddle a lot. The seat makes a perfect shelf to put gear. I have several of the receiver brackets in three different sets. I take the stand only and slide it on the receiver. This is good for different wind situations. Just don't leave the receivers in the woods all the time. Good video.

    The lone wolf is extremely comfortable and the process of attaching it to the tree is much better while you are 20 feet off the ground. and the LW easy hang strap is quieter ,no ratchet and faster . If you like that set up thats great but try a LW

    Have you looked into a guido's web yet? Safe, light, ultra portable, silent and quick. You'll never look at another stand again! You can sit all day. You can shoot 360degrees. All while keeping the tree between you and the Deer. I got it because I too hunt long distance public land just a few hours south of you(nantahala forest). I'll never go back to a conventional stand.Just thought this was something one mtn hunter could offer another. Thanks for the videos and I look forward to the next hunting video!

      I have looked at the guido's web. It looks comfy and well built. I never ordered one due to sticker shock. I ended up making a different saddle set up with a rock climbing harness and sit/drag that cost me around $80 but I'm sure it isn't as comfortable as the guido's web. I plan on doing a video on my saddle set up but if you want to see what it's like check out DIY Sportman's channel and mine is very similar to his. I used it this year as much as I did my treestand.

    I have heard that they advertise it at 8.50 lbs but it is actually over nine. Would you either do a video or weigh the stand on a digital scale? Also what is the dimension from the rear vee tip to the front of the plat form? Thanks Man! Great video's!!!

    If Millennium made a few common sense modifications to all its stands, itd put the others out of business. Love the lock on cams. I like to old chain block systems. To lock on and leave they are the safest. M150 is a hoss. Best stand on the market.

    I bought the M7 this year for all the same reasons. It's now my go to stand for my public land hunts. I have a Lone Wolf Assault , the seat on the Lone Wolf is ridiculously uncomfortable. The M7 is less expensive, lighter and waaaaaay more comfortable. Great review!

    • @budgetbucksoutdoors

      That's what I figured too just by the looks of it. If Lone Wolf would put a different seat on their product I might would give their stand a try.

    I was a Lone Wolf guy for years but I went to the Millenium stands for 2 reasons: as I've gotten older the Lone Wolf hang-ons are not near as comfortable. Reason two is Lone Wolf has just gotten way too expensive for moderate comfort.

    Funny how our opinions change on what’s comfortable when we get older. In my 20’s I could have sit on a limb for 8 hours. In your 50’s and 60’s millennium stands slaughter any stand I’ve seen for comfort. Especially the 100 series.

  • @hpgdawnpatrol9456

    With the seat up and your back flat against tree this stand has the smallest silhouette profile of any. I saw over 30 deer in one hunt last friday. Back flat..dont move an inch. Big stands get you busted. In many other ways as well- increased sweat due to weight, getting hung up on vines and stuff as you hike in etc etc The m7 is the best public land hang on stand there is. But it isnt perfect. Stealth strips and lots of little fun mods make it the best. Lone wolfs and climber stands are same way but you wind up with twice as much stand and you just dont need it. Too big. You will get busted alot more.

    The new model M-100U from millennium only weighs 11.5lbs now. It might be 3.5lbs heavier than the M-7, but it's 10x more comfortable than any other hang on stand out there. I have an old back injury that hurts like hell if I sit on, or in anything that doesn't allow me to recline back some. The M-100U is the most comfortable hang on stand I've ever sat in, and the best overall stand in my opinion when you add up all it's features. Only reason I'm saying this is because they haven't said in this video or the previous video that the new models only weigh 11.5lbs. And anyone with back and/or pain issues like me might not be able to use a stand like the M7, and not know that the newer M-100U is lighter and a much better option if comfort is your top priority like it is for me.

    • @budgetbucksoutdoors
      @budgetbucksoutdoors  6 років тому

      True, I think the new one does weigh 3 lbs less. If I had back injury I might would go with that one. I just don't have that one to review. Still, for me, carrying a ton of camera gear the extra three lbs that I can shave off with the M7 is worth it, for me.

  • @uvcoach42
    @uvcoach42 5 років тому

    At least two straps if not three.. Then an extra cable on the platform as well. I would bet if you catch the edge of your boot it would make a POP noise (cost me a nice buck one time). Because of the opening on the base of the platform. But most manufacturers are using that open grid design now.

    I have an M7. I have done several mods to make it easier to carry and mount. I installed a PETZL Climbing carabiner/Sling CE0082 so I don't have to take the pin out of the mount bracket every time I want to hang the stand. I replaced the main strap with a simple LoneWolf pull strap and a carabiner. All you have to do is wrap it around the tree and pull the loose end tight. I also installed the MOLLE frame shoulder straps and waste belt. It feels like you are carrying hardly anything on your back. I am currently using a simple luggage cargo strap for the lower part of the stand. Your surplus strap looks much better!
    What kind of lower strap is that you are using??????? Can you post a link??? Thanks

      I did the same to my stand. I’m even thinking of cutting off the hanging system and modifying to use the lone wolf versa button. I also got rid of the lone wolf straps on my sticks and use 8mm climbing rope mod like DIY Sportsman did on his video. The molle straps make it so much easier to carry as well

    *Nice stand>>>**ur2.pl/923** so far. It's my first, so don't have a comparison. But, after 2 times trying it out and hunting in the woods I think I have it down. It's light, but I got the Sherpa game cart converter and its a breeze to haul a mile. Also getting the Mollie Straps for shoulders and waist. The harness works as it should: looks like quality seatbelt material. If your on the fence about getting either an open or a closed-get the closed. You can even use the bar to shoot your rifle from if you set the top section high and just stand hunt.*

    Yall ever give any consideration to a saddle type setup? Filming effects the decision I'm sure. I think I'm going to try it for next year, hopefully make those hikes into the WNC mountains a little easier.

    • @budgetbucksoutdoors
      @budgetbucksoutdoors  6 років тому

      I have a saddle that I sometimes film from. It is similar to the one that DIY Sportsman shows on his youtube channel. I use the same saddle but I sewed a pad in mine. I use the same rock climbing harness also(because it is hunter orange.) I can sit in the saddle for half a day but no more. It does give you more movement in the stand. I shot two deer out of mine this year but It kind of forces me to use a rifle with a short stock so I used my AR15. It is easier to film out of the Millenium stand but we did use it for filming once this year 3 miles from the truck. I will do a review on my hunting saddle set up for you as soon as my shoulder heals from my recent surgery.

      Awesome. I made a SitDrag setup I made last year as well. Think I'll be going with an Aero hunter Kestrel for 2018. I went with a Ruger American Ranch this yr to help in those compact situations. Love what you guys do, really don't get why you only have 1k followers but I think yall really have some room to do well in this market. Best of luck, heading to Green River GL now! Look forward to more videos.

      I am considering purchasing the Ruger American Compact .308 just for hunting out of the SitDrag setup. It has a length of pull that is a few inches shorter than my other rifles. Are you happy with the Ruger American Ranch rifle?

    • @zachstokes5148

      More than happy. Have shot different loads from 110gr to 220gr and they all group well, and POI just moves vertically. Really impressive little gun. Beat it up in laurel thickets, drenched in rain, up and down trees and zero hasn't moved and the coating on the metal still looks brand new(after cleaning of course). Awesome trigger lightweight, and well balanced, couldn't ask for more.

    That M7 stand ready to hunt weights more than 12 lbs with the mounting bracket strap and backpack straps. Lone Wolf Assault 2 with mounting straps and backpack straps weights less than 12 lbs and is a better built stand imo. Lone Wolf is made in America, Millennium is made China. Both cost around the same price. But thanks for the video.

    How big of a pain is that to thread that bolt in the dark when hanging the receiver?

    • @budgetbucksoutdoors
      @budgetbucksoutdoors  6 років тому

      It is easy without gloves. With gloves on you have to be careful not to drop it. It would be better if the bolt was not black.

      Paint the top of the bolt, the bottom of the bolt and 1-2 stripes down the bolt with glow in the dark nail polish. I've used it on my ozonics screws and even have a couple of dots on my bow release.
