Started wearing mine on September of 2017 still wearing them in May of 2022. I wear them at least 5 days a week.
Just worn these boots out after wearing for 11 months, 5 days per week and walking on average 5 to 8 miles each day.
I've found them to be quite waterproof BUT not much grip on polished wet floors, in fact very little grip.
The biggest gripe I have is the sizing. I'm a size 9 wide (UK) and the boots are a little lacking in the length department.
I would, will buy another pair but will buy a size 10, got a black toe nail with the 9's. LoL.
Pocket in side of boot very handy for my Delica folder. Out of sight but very handy.
The zipped sides make getting boots on/off very easy.
Highly recommended. Just watch the size and if you can try on first, do.

The Doc Martens lasts forever, that's for sure. :) I wanted something light weight, that's why I bought this 5.11 one. :)
Just to add.
It's the soles and heels that have worn out, the uppers are still perfect.
Have to buy these for the academy
I did put only a couple miles in it. My only problem is, the laces "untie themselves". I walk like 700 yards and the laces are untied. I don't know why.
Now they shifted manufacturing to Bangladesh, there is a marked difference in finish. Only the insoles got better.
A lot of guys I work with wear those. Some of them have parts of the soles fall off. The toe part is common

thatmaninblack Ok cool, I think what was happening was after a period of time, some said the sole was starting to separate from the upper, but those were just a couple I read, thanks for the review and reply.

I don't know, but these are really strong and high quality zippers, and they are not uncomfortable there, so I don't mind them at all. :-)
For me they look more like replica boots than real combat boots with a zipper like that.
These are original 5.11 boots. People like it, it has 4.5-5 stars everywhere, they are lightweight and comfortable too. Definitely not replica. :)

So how have these boots held up? Are they cool on the feet to wear or do you sweat allot?
Sweat? Not really. These are ok for summer temperature.
Would these be good for hiking or backpacking in the northern east foresty and rocky part of the us?
I don't know, these are more like urban boots, I guess. But there are Jungle boots, and special hiking boots, probably those are better for forest hiking trips. I'm not saying that these wouldn't work, but there are better boots for hiking. I have Marten's type boots too, I would rather trust those for a hiking trip. Not to mention I got those 20 years ago and I had no issues with them since then. :)
Look for hiking boots. Not for urban tactical boots.

It's not for that, so I guess you could use it for it, but it wouldn't make too much sense and wouldn't be too comfortable for it. So I'd say for exercising the sport shoes/running shoes are the best. :-)

I always lower the audio in the video editor, so it's already less low than the original music. You can turn the volume even lower though, with the UA-cam volume or in your computer. :)
