I love this trick! I work in theatre and this would be so good for painting set pieces! I’m curious as to how you blended it without losing the lightness of the original yellow ochre, or did you just make sure that your darkest paint color is more sheer towards the center? Any tricks would be helpful! :)
I don't know about that paint specifically, but I work with a lot of acrylic paints. Sometimes if it's the same type of paint, if the lighter color underneath is light enough, it'll always show through over the top layers unless you decide to do multiple layers over it. Obviously the more layers, the less you'll see it
It looks like she was blending some of the yellow into the center on each coat, even as she did the darker color layers.
Just more sheer towards the center! if you mix your paints (especially if you’re using two different types like she did, latex and chalk) you risk having certain areas end up patchy or the paints not be compatible and end up too thick or clumpy. You want the brightest, first layer to be the most opaque, and each layer from there on to be blended out in the center using a dry brush technique aka just sheering out the paint.
Holy cow, I thought the thumbnail was a jar of melted peanut butter.
When my grandpa said “a little paint goes a long way” and “there’s nothing a few coats of paint can’t do” he was NOT kidding!
I'm like "whhhaattt" It came out really nice!
Wow, I didn’t know you could paint furniture! Thanks for the lesson!
Turned out incredible ☺️
Absolutely beautiful. 💯
This is so cool. It turned out absolutely beautiful! I’ve seen Debi’s design diary paint furniture, but I had no idea you could mix fabric softener in with your paint! Thank you so much for sharing these tips!! 🙂
I'm impressed! Actually attainable thank you.
I'm obsessed!! The pattern that shows through is really cute
My first thought was always sunny when they paint the chair to make it look like it was dipped in gold.
Wow! That's brilliant! 😍
Amazeballs! Absolutely brilliant!
Nice..I like that the pattern shows thru. Love it!
Wow, it looks great !
Great job....I love to save furniture from the landfill...it makes them more interesting than purchasing from big box stores ! Love the colors 💗 TYFS
Do you just go to the landfill and find furniture? Or drive around and pick it up from the curb? I'm interested to know where to get free furniture too
@@dreadfairy6963 I have never picked up anything from the landfill ! ..I was saying....if it had been thrown away instead of painting... it would have been placed in the landfill.
BTW "free" furniture is listed on several different sites like Marketplace , Craigslist and others .
Gorgeous piece!
Wow that's incredible!!! Brilliant

Brilliant, this lady makes everything she does look fantastic ❤️🇬🇧
Great job it’s beautiful.
I just inherited a sectional from my youngest when she moved. It's the dreaded pinky beige and powder blue. My place is a rental so all ceilings and walls are a gray tinged white with bright colors to accent. Now I can refinish this couch without creating a muslin pattern and cutting g, stapling and gluing fabric. This was something I had no Idea could be done.
It looks nice with the the pattern showing through it looks different👍💖
That is amazing!😮😄
This is honestly so cool!! I had no idea you could do that! I’m about to finish my whole house on a budget and I can’t wait to use this!
Awesome flip! 👍
That’s awesome… some times we have that piece of furniture chair that for some reason we like it’s just comfortable and it might have some sentimental value…thank you for sharing your skills and sharing your great idea to transform that furniture ThanX!! Saludos!!👋👋👋👋👋

You pulled of the chair’s skirt to show off it’s legs.
Idk why, but this made me chuckle 😂

I’d love to see an update if you still have the chair! I’ve wanted to do this for awhile with two old chairs I have, but worry about longevity.
Very interesting way to refinish it! I actually like the look A LOT! Great job.....

WOW I thought it was a real leather chair I didn’t know you could paint it like that it’s gorgeous
Definitely love the pattern in the surface. It gives another layer to the look
What an amazing transformation. True talent
Dang Girl you really did THAT . Props for how beautiful it came out and for all the effort so worth it
Great job, the chair got the second life with your touch! I had no clue you can paint even fabrics like that, wow!
I feel like sitting in a chair that’s been painted like that would feel weird. I’d definitely be mad if I bought it thinking it was actually leather.
The seller would definitely need to disclose that it isn't, but I guess some people would be sneaky like that lol
It feels pretty similar to sitting on faux leather and who said it was for sale? I did this project as a budget friendly fix for my 9 year olds bedroom.
Thats so cool,....very clever
I like how the old design shows throw it pops
Wow, who knew? Great job!
Awesome idea!
👍🤩Terrific 💝
Whaaaaaaat this is SO cool!!!!
That's incredible!!!
Wow, I didn't know you can paint the fabric. Looks wonderful, great job!!!
Interesting method for creating a unique leather design.
Love it. I would have loved it even not painted but w/o the skirt
Amazing!!!! Thank you for showing fabric paint is not necessary. Brilliant! Subbed.
That looks so cool, well done.

Oh wow! I didn’t even know you could do that! Cool!

Very clever! This lady’s got talent!
I love this idea!
You have crazy mad skills girl!! 😉
Wow Katie this came out amazing! There's no end to your talent ❤
I reuse the gelato plastic containers too !!! They’re fantastic.
Reminds me of a piece of toast during the painting. Lol Looks great!
I like the fire stripe texture. It looks intentional. Great hack to get the skirt off - roll it with the pliers!🌸
Yes! The texture is actually a big PLUS! Brings to my mind all those chesterwills 👍
It looks so much better amazing
Love this !
Yes, striped leather is so awesome.
