Possible spoilers. The vent was pretty easy to understand for me, mostly because I expected false or fake arrows. So I followed the normal arrow and was expecting to see fake red arrows (Directors prefered pen color) but instead say those arrows with !!! on them. I figured it was a warning for which way was dangerous. So I went the other direction. Pretty simple. As for the Computer, I don't understand how they didn't realize it. I thought it was pretty obvious once I got even one right, it was pretty clear to me atleast what it wanted. Anyway, that game is very good, highly reccomend.
