There are most often rules obtaining to objects hanging from the ceiling. The ball was clearly headed out of play and would have been Hawaii's point if the speakers weren't there. Just hitting the ceiling on a ball that goes straight up is a different story.
If you watch the full match, they change the call and award the point to Hawaii. Apparently if it hits a certain part of the ceiling or air vent then it's still considered in. If not, its considered out so it was ultimately corrected.
How do they teach BYU? Seems like all they're doing is tipping the ball majority of the time. The sets look great, of course there is big blocks, but learning to hit around it or using them is ideal.
Not sure about the hard work you're talking about. The guys currently on the team are the ones putting in the hard work. Those two, chose to transfer to UCLA, because they know very well they would not crack the starting line-up.
Wished they had stayed but they both knew they wouldn't sniff the court this season. We wish them well however. I have a feeling UH and UCLA will meet up in the NCAA tourney.
