Which side of the fabric goes up? In the video it shows the fabric simply being rolled out . The instructions on the actual product say to place the shiny side up, which is opposite of how it is rolled out in this video.
Go to the Home Depot site and they have videos specifically to such. It is easy enough to do, if you make cuts either big enough or overlay or overlap the material so that when water is on top of it, that it drains away without draining beneath the cover. You could always lay down a piece of the material right up to the first plant and then make a larger X pattern so you could put the fabric over it, like you would a tarp. Once you have the material about the shrub or plant, then do exactly as described in this video as to use of the staples to hold the X pieces together again. Sort of a bit complex to explain, but not all that difficult to do, in reality.
I would love to use this stuff, but you can't buy it on the home Depot website and ship to you. At my local store, you show up to buy it, and what they give you instead is a lower quality landscape fabric. I pointed out the discrepancy and neither the employee nor manager cared. I've emailed and called customer service, but no one at Home Depot cares about this bait and switch, and no one wants to help me get this product. Very disappointing.

Well this is easier since you are starting with a clean landscape. How easy is it to install on beds that already have trees and shrubs?
