Had some fun on this one. Here's a new take on the electric skateboard... The Lou is much smaller / lighter than other electric skateboards on the market. I think this form-factor will be quite popular. Would you guys go for the Lou over a boosted board?

This is probably the first product Lew tries to sell to us that isn't overpriced
Too bad the model Lew is representing is the 3.0 model which is 3x the amount of the base model (Lou 1.0) at $750 instead of $250-300

Isn't this similar to the older skateboard designs? Wouldn't that make it more of a skateboard than the more efficient omnidirectional boards? Pretty sure penny didn't invent the design.
A) If he called it a penny board the general person outside the skateboarding community would look at the video and go "WTF is a penny board? Don't care, next video."
B) A skateboard is literally defined as "A short board that is on wheels and that a person stands on to move along a surface or to perform tricks" - from Merriam Websters, so, sorry, but this is a Skateboard. You could argue if you really wanted to sound like a moron (like you apparently do), that long boards aren't a "short board" but, oops, they are, and those are also just another type of Skateboard.

I ordered a Lou board 2.0 & 3.0 can't wait for them to be delivered... after not really caring about an electric skateboard, we had the opportunity to check these out at an event in Switzerland and I was completely convinced it's just awesome

So on the small on, you can switch off power and conserve battery on downhills. Looks like a good idea.

Compared to high quality long boards it's pretty good for a well made electric one.

that would be cool though especially if you were just going downhill and cruising to charge the battery for hill climbs

that's exactly what I thought they should've of done, implementing the tech to recharge the battery while going downhill trough the braking system.. it would of been very helpful and useful
You should check out the Linky Longboard. It is an electric longboard, but it folds and fits in a backpack, allowing it to be much more portable than even a normal skateboard!

all you have to do is give the batteries time to cool lipos are temperamental but in terms of performance much better then nimh they are lighter and hold a better charge. but more prone to malfunction fire and so on
