@@EveryDaysAGoodDayBro The Midwest has better people. Trust me! I'm from Chicago and lived in California for the last 14 years. The weather keeps me here. That's it!
San Diego certainly has a lot to offer! With its stunning coastline, amazing weather, diverse culture, and vibrant food scene, it’s easy to see why many people consider it the best. What do you love most about San Diego? 🍉🍧🏝⛱
I have family that live in San Diego, Everytime I'm there, I always go to Pacific beach, Mission beach, belmont Park, etc. They have a beach house in mission bay
San Diego is beautiful, I remember going to Southern California every year, with my parents, we would go to the zoo sea world, they used to have a place called Marian land and bush gardens. Know that I’m in my early fourties’ and I travel most of the time by my self. I’ll hit up some of the beaches I’m going to tell you tho knocks bearry farm has a wonderful chicken dinner.
@@Th3lastsong I so know that feeling. However, there are so many other foods you can still enjoy. Maybe take a anti acid before n after indulging abit, check with your Dr 1st of course. It definitely helps me. Peace be with you. 😊
Long Beach. Not really. I live by the downtown area and dont know why you’d come. Aquarium is nice and lots of chain restaurants in that area, if you’re into those, so there’s that. San Diego has always been so nice. My hometown. Still so many nice places to go. Great history. Doesn’t feel as big as it is. Sadly, those in charge have changed and homeless in quantity, downtown and there about.
The vicissitudes of life will seem to be painful and draining most times, but throwing away the towel so easily is never the mindset of any successful champion
Another must-see is Safari Park (which a lot of locals still call by its old name, "Wild Animal Park"). It's less depressing than the San Diego Zoo because the animals can roam freely in a large area while safari buses travel through the habitat. (There's also a balloon ride, but the balloon only goes straight up and down.) 2:35 - In San Diego if you say "trolley" most people will assume you mean the actual MTS trolley (which at 18:31 you call a "tram"), not this tour bus that calls itself a trolley. 7:11 - Cabrillo and his crew did not settle in California, and he has nothing to do with Old Town. Old Town is called the birthplace of California because Father Junipero Serra founded a mission there in the late 18th century, over 200 years after Cabrillo sailed by. 8:18 - Might be helpful to explain that by "the convention" you mean the 1915 Panama-California Exposition (kind of like a World's Fair), followed up by the California Pacific International Exposition in 1935. Many of the Park's distinctive buildings were constructed for one or the other of those two Expos. 13:57 - The sailor is NOT kissing his "girlfriend or wife." This statue is based on the famous 1945 photo from LIFE magazine of a sailor celebrating the Allied victory who just grabbed a random woman on the street and kissed her against her will. It's an incredibly offensive statue that essentially celebrates sexual assault. 19:02 - Historical sources disagree as to whether Cabrillo was Portuguese or Spanish. They certainly weren't "the same thing," though. 21:11 - The cave outline, because it looks like a person's head, was nicknamed "Sunny Jim" by L. Frank Baum, the author of the Oz books. Baum is also thought to have designed the chandeliers for the dining room of the Del Coronado hotel, where he lived for a while. His book "The Sea Fairies" was inspired by the many sea caves along the La Jolla coast. 22:58 - Pretty sure you meant "San Diego," not "Los Angeles," there.
Love your rendition of San Diego, lol, except for the Kissing Couple from WW2. Supposedly, she had no qualm in being kissed, so really its not a offensive act. Again, the rest of fyi, is really great, gracias. 😊
Nice video but not sure why Petco Park and San Diego County Fair were not included? I am assuming it's because it is not a year round activity. Safari Park is though and it was not included. Those are the only suggestions I came to offer. Other than that, awesome, thanks for a great video.
Great video, just correct two things please. The Rady Shell (pronounced: Ray-dee) not "ratty." The Rady Shell at Jacobs park opened in May 2021 it was named after some of the major donors. Ernest & Evelyn Rady gave 15 million to the project and Joan & Irwin Jacobs gave 11 million to the project, thus the name Jacob park & Rady shell. The statue (Unconditional Surrender) statue of the Sailor & Nurse embraced in a kiss: they're actually strangers to one & other. The authentic incident was photographed in 1945 in Times Square at the end of WWII. Read the entire history on the statue to find out all the interesting details of the original subjects in the famous photo from 1945.

I wish San Diego was the same as when I lived there. It looks like they went blue, and it's ruined now. It used to be the only area that did really well in the state during an economic downturn. Oh, memories. I guess that's where they belong...in the past 😢
Sadly it is quite pricey. However, there are ways around it. Buy certain items from local markets n picnic. Share a "Burrito", so as to try more throughout your day, at least with hand held foods/finger foods. Many sights are free to enjoy, other than gas to get there. 😊
