TURN DOWN THE MUSIC, YA FRIGGIN BASS HEADS!
@@windows2785 IT SOUND LIKE A STRIP CLUB IN HERE! GOD DAMN!
@@abox8362 JUST GET SOME GIRLS IN SOME CAGES!
@@windows2785 GOOD LORD! Man, programmers. who knows *what* they’re doing in there.
"Maybe they raved themselves to death ESCAPING TECHNO HELL"
Out of all the arena tracks, this one was my favorite. We had the family computer in a room with good acoustics in the basement, and one night I snuck in there, started a tournament, and beat up opponents until I got to this stage. I paused the game and hit record on the cassette player I brought. After letting the song cycle through once, I unpaused it so the recording would get the random thunderclaps and went to bed. Woke up early the next day and had a workout tape that I cherished the rest of my teenaged years.
I did this with wolf3d and spaceballs
"Yes, I was wondering if you could play that song again? The one that goes beep boop bop boo boo beep"
Cmon, this one clearly goes "PAM PAM PAM PAPAPAM PAM PAM PAPAPAM PAM PAM PAM PAPAPAM PAM PAPAPAPAM" like a robot is repeatedly punching your head. (Which is a good thing)
"TURN DOWN THE MUSIC YOU FRIGGIN BASS HEADS! IT SOUNDS LIKE A STRIP CLUB IN HERE! GOD DAMN, JUST GET SOME DANCING GIRLS IN CAGES WHY DON'T YA? GOOD LORD! Man, programmers....who know's what they're doing in there...."
I was thinking this before I saw your comment.
They're gonna go deaf before the end of the year at that rate!
Freeman's Mind!
“They’re gonna go deaf by the end of the year at this rate…”
So I actually ran across this while programming. I forgot it was in Freeman's Mind and had to look up the meme when I saw the comments.
programmers....
man, who knows what they're doing...
I'm surprised it's so common a thing to run across when one programs.
"TURN DOWN THE MUSIC YOU FRICKIN' BASS HEADS! IT SOUNDS LIKE A STRIP CLUB IN HERE! GOD DAMN! JUST GET SOME DANCING GIRLS IN CAGES, WHY DON'T YOU?!"
Thanks Ross for introducing this song to me (I missed out playing the game back in the day so had no idea the music in it was so good haha)
To be honest, this would totally be a song the Adaptus Mechanicus would use during their rituals.
i imagined tech priests raving
i mean, who's to say this isn't the titan activation ritual.
@@GidionX Two hours of insence, chanting, bowing and repeating techno music.
Mating rituals.
this Music SCREAM 90's and i love it.
It screams INTERGALACTIC HOUSE OF PANCAKES
No shit.
The best game music of the 1990s dos game.
IT SOUNDS LIKE A STRIP CLUB IN HERE! GOD DAMN!
I kindly but strictly recommend that you should lower the amount of decibels that your music is currently achieving, you very uncouth yet dedicated bass-obsessed individuals.
My reason for this request is the observation on my part that said music is comparable to that which is played aloud in a recreational building called a "strip club", where one goes to view a professional man or woman removing clothing, usually for sexual purposes.
@@harrypotamus4968 Uhh... was that nessessary for a video game song video?
@@miketropic9690 It was a half life series joke if you didnt know.
This is actually how the Gravid Ultrasound sounded... Very bass heavy with interpolated samples that muffled the trebles.

You know I can't let you through here.
This song hasn't stopped affecting me since I heard it in 1993.
You mean '94, right?
*1994
Hmm. Read the whole wiki. Shareware version dropped the previous year in May. Can't believe I have to cite a Wikipedia article to insist on what I experienced, but that's the way of the world I guess.
Either that or the way of jackasses who "correct" people on UA-cam. And POST
That was the demo of One Must Fall, not One Must Fall 2097, with some kind of Ryu and Ken
@@chaleeman O_O ...you aren't wrong about it saying that, but the completed version (October 1994) was released after the shareware version, and the shareware version was out earlier. It wasn't that long after OMF dropped (months) that the OMF2097 shareware came out with Jaguar, Shadow & Thorn, and with Pyro as "the boss". You could also only select the Power Plant stage, and play only one of the Tournaments in Tournament mode.
I'm no revisionist, but the more time goes by, the more people need written proof that I simply don't care to furnish (when I was there). The year was 1993. So unless you get Rob Elam in here himself to deny that, I'm not retracting it. My brother and I played the hell out of the shareware version until we could buy the complete version the following year.
My favorite song from this game.
I had the demo to this game, and definitely remember this track.
This song is a good song for the "Fuck it, we ball" mentality
This area was my favorite area. However Stadium had the best music.
great stuff going around the website today
hahahahaaaaughhh *zooms in*
can't wait for super-AIs that can be used to get the context of comments like these
OMF has the power with cool background musics and Power Plant arena!!!
First time hearing this was not Freeman's Mind or actually in this game, oddly enough. I first heard this in the Super Mario World Hack, "Mario's Keytastrophe".
YOU WIN
Broke: Listening to this youtube video for this music
Woke: Opening the actual file the game uses in OpenMPT
ultra-woke: using impulse tracker on dosbox, like god intended
This track was used in the rom hack of SMW, Super Mario /V/orld 2: Moot Point in the stage "Leather Club'.
beatiful groove
10/10 Would Throw into an electric cage.
you mean 2097/10
HUOOOH
Am I hearing things?
Turn down the music you freaking bass-heads!
I 1st heard this on a Mario hack I loved it so much I downloaded it to jam to for workouts.
Which one? Was it Keytastrophe?
@@Nick_Whiskey Pretty sure it was Super Mario /v/orld 2: Moot Point.
The best theme in the entire game
Cool
The tech priest lit the incense, while the brightly colored ink upon the many ribbons of parchment fluttered as the air vents started spinning up. Another Mk. DMA-420 arc reactor was about to ignite for the first time. A most tense moment as the most minor of imperfections would destroy a good chunk of this factorum block as the reactor denotates.
The Ritual of Ignition was among some of the eccentric ones, 69 hours of appeasement, of the reactor's machine spirit as it is slowly dialed up to operational status. As the command is given to start the reactor, hymns begin to blare from the Dutiful Justice Priest's many amplifiers, a very strict pulse of a harsh bass note is produced, and soon more advanced rhythms follow. The lesser adepts ignite their multicolored chemical lamps, and begin to wave and weave their many servo arms in varying patterns of synchronicity with the priest's blaring hymns.
All the while the dark room is light by the flashing blue bolts of electricity the slowly initializing arc reactor in their center in yet another synchronicity to the driving beat of the hymn.
And 'lo, another Mk. DMA-420 is ready to power an Imperial Knight is their service to the Omnissiah Emperor and The Machine God.
When I was a kid i was like "daimn i wish we had this music as mainstream, instead of all the boring shit about living and stuff.. " it's 2023 and we still have shitty music as mainstream and not this. In fact, if you want this, you have to search really deep.. but here we are, the children grew up and are following the path of .. well. .this!

Man the real old schoolers are the ones who actually played the game before the whole Freeman's Mind reference, myself being one of them.

Freeman cant compete with my freeware experiences.
I mostly liked the carreer mode, where u had to upgrade your batlle mech/Robot. Powerplant was my favorite stage. :)

I am so confused, what is the quote below about bassheads and programmers and strip clubs from?
This should help ua-cam.com/video/yJRgAYcM1lw/v-deo.html&t=197
Getting heavy mk vibes from this song
Mhaaaan! Programmers....
This theme reminds me alot of "2 UNLIMITED - No Limit"
"Turn down the music, you freaking baseheads!"
In the Star Trek: Voyager episode where 7 of 9 gets Borg Split-Personality Disorder, I actually played this music during the mind-meld scene because it looked like a rave.
there was a machine Borg Cubes have that stores the conscious of assimilated humans and humanoids (forget the name of said machine). Which leads me to wonder...since 7 of 9 would be considered "liberated" (in terms of Star Trek Online), shouldn't she have gotten hers back?
@removethatpfp yousubhumansackofshitcuntprick Shouldn’t you be in school right now?
Oh, right, I forgot. School is where people go when they want to get shot by a psycho with an AR-15, or by the cops who are allegedly there to keep them safe. My bad.
@@DantesonofSparda85 Technically she already did. She was just so young when she got assimilated that- [long essay follows]
@removethatpfp yousubhumansackofshitcuntprick Stop spamming, or I'm ripping out your heart as if I'm Kano from Mortal Kombat!
Now this is proper Gundam wrecking music.
How about some Jazz Jackrabbit on GUS?
I had to adjust my equalizer to keep my eardrums intact.
I used to rename all the ARENA_ files, so I would always fight on the power plant stage.
Huh, what was that? Must've been the wind.
Am i the only one who thinks this sounds like a half life song
Heard this on a super Mario world rom hack. The 29th megaman anniversary

Never played this game how exactly does it reference Freeman from HL

It's a fighting game from the 90s that ran on DOS - likely the only good fighting game on PC for a long while.
It's used in the youtube series of videos called "Freeman's Mind". This song is used in episode 2 at around 3:30.
Just pissed off a programmer in a comment section for a lost muppets character and they brought up this track in an attempt to “intimidate” me?? I think???
