I've made several comments on Eric's marvelous pieces on Meryl Streep. I count myself fortunate to have been there in the beginning of Meryl's film career. I was 20 when Julia graced the silver screen, and apart from just a few films, I have seen everything that Meryl has done including an uncredited appearance in the Farralley Brothers "Stuck on You". No role is too big or too small for Meryl and there are darned few actors/actresses who would accept any role unless it was the leading role.
It's wonderful how well she can act. She is an icon. What can she not do?

at 6:20 she looks so similar to Princess Diana and that made me realize that she would be perfect.
That sentence, that bone-marrow chilling sentence will never cease to bring me to tears; "the truth, the truth, I don't even know what is the truth....after all these lies I have told..." It captures everything!!!!

Great Meryl.
She is incomparable !! Her range of character perfections are beyond any other actress ever ! I was with family vacationing in California and we walked across an empty red carpet just before the function let out and we found out it was Meryl Streep's Lifetime achievement award. I thought she was a great actress but she went on to continue to keep doing what she does best, and amazing us all with her fantastic transformations. YOU FREAKING ROCK MERYL !!! You are EVERY woman !! And you portray them so genuinely and captivate us in them . And besides which your actual personality is adorable and fun. Would love to know and hang out with you..I think it would be a laugh-fest. Thank you for blessing us !

You are a wonderful fan and your love for her is as great as a Streep performance. I saw her probably way before you were born in Central Park with Raul Julia I think in As You Like It, and with Morgan Freeman in another Shakespeare play all produced by Joe Papp Public Theatre, also in Alice. From her entrance to the end she stood out for the great details of character which caught the attention without up staging. I don't think Konstantin Stanislavsky himself ever imagined his acting techniques would have reached Meryl Streep levels. She's a natural and the greatest actor in history of the craft of acting, which is what allows her the free spirit freedom of creation. Any news on the CALLAS film she began with Nichols, I know he died during the shoot. I would love to see a remake of All About EVE, with Jennifer Lawrence as EVE! Great post, thank you.

Go back to 0.13 when Meryl won the Golden Globe. The look on Viola Davis's face says it all. She is so pissed that she lost to Meryl. Davis is soooo overated. When Davis is in a film you can count on two things...tears and SNOT. Lots and lots of snot.
