    Had to subscribe after this one dude! This is probably the best side by side pickup comparison vid I've seen. I appreciate how thorough you are in regard to different types of tones/applications, and I loved hearing each pup in the mix vs. unprocessed

    In all my years of playing, I have yet to play another pickup with as good a lead tone as the Holy Diver. All those mids just absolutely sing, I’m pretty sure that was the whole intent behind that pickup.
    For straight up riffing I’d probably go with the Warpig, it’s tighter and nastier, fatter in the lows. But the Warpig leads just don’t soar like the Holy Diver.
    They’re both awesome pickups, but they definitely excel at different things.

    • @gabriel_guitar
      @gabriel_guitar Рік тому +5

      My thoughts exactly :)! The Holy Diver is amazing for leads and hard rock in general, as for tight metal & stoner the Warpig takes the cake. I've recently managed to get a BKP Silo, it somehow feels like the bastard son of these 2 pups, also amazing for leads just like the Holy Diver and has the cool low mids and compression of the Warpig.

    Nice playing!!! 🤘Both are awesome pickups. Again, I’m more on the OSDM low tuned camp for the Warpig. Doom was a good example too. Thick, scooped, but cutting. The HD is more mid heavy but retains classic character. Definitely awesome for prog, prog metal, traditional heavy metal, and distinctly Jerry Cantrell style tones. Well done dude. Subbed.

      Thank you my friend - really appreciate the sub and the kind words! My thoughts exactly, I must say though as much as I like the Holydiver, there's just something really special about the Warpig, it has this natural compression that just makes it addictive to play - I heard the Silo is somewhat similar to the Warpig but tighter, must try that one at some point too. 🤘

    Muito bom, espero que o teu canal arranque para a frente, bastante dedicação colocada nestes vídeos, já merecias. Edição 5 estrelas, grandes tons, alta qualidade e definição. Tens que descriminar o teu processo na criação dos efeitos para a guitarra em formato de vídeo e complementar estes vídeos que fazes com isso. Sempre é mais conteúdo e é sempre bom perceber como as outras pessoas pensam e agem e qual o método de trabalho em busca do seu tom perfeito. Percebo que às vezes seja difícil de comunicar e falar para os vídeos mas acho que ganharias muito com isso, mas percebo que nem toda a gente se sinta à vontade com isso. Apesar de não usar Neural DSP gosto sempre de saber o processo mental por detrás dos grandes tons, neste momento estou a usar uma hx stomp, especialmente para gravar directo, e apesar de curtir o som que consegui não deixo de olhar para isto e ficar de boca aberta com o corpo sonoro destes efeitos que crias. Um abraço, já agora a minha namorada e companheira estudou em santa comba dão, na mesma escola que tu, foi assim que conheci o teu trabalho.

I am now consulting with BKP helpdesk deciding between Ragnarok/Silo/Poly for my solid body Strandberg, but the support person said a thing about chambered guitars along the way: "For chambered I would go for less bass, more clarity, maybe slightly less power than the Rags.". I think that's referring to the specific (bigger?) resonance of chambered guitars, which with bassy pickups may be too much. Please don't take this seriously I am a noob, just thought I'd share what I heard when saw chambered and warpig in the same sentence.

      @@gabriel_guitar ah its a pain to choose.. especially as I am targeting to have just a single guitar for a long time and I kinda want those to be as versatile as possible, but it must for sure do heavy stuff with power and clarity, then ambient stuff, then coil split, then no harshness, but not too dark.. dah I'm a mess in explaining things :) still choosing between the Ragnarok, Silo and Polymath.. I'm already on the line with support discussing this, but at current moment it raises more questions than answers plus they brought to my attention that I may mix those, so the amount of combinations is huge and I'm completely lost now :D
